This guy doesn't know what he is talking about.-Dyess will NOT opt out. He loves Detroit, and has already said nothing will tear him away from signing with the Pistons again. He even said if he was traded at the deadline, he'd retire. He won't get any more money anywhere else than Detroit as well.-Dumars does not low-ball his players, he just doesn't overpay for them. He offered Ben a very reasonable offer, but Chicago decided to overpay for him. Prince has a generous contract. Same with Rip. He's not stupid to overpay for them, but still gives them enough to be happy.-Dumars won't be working under the cap. I don't know where he got that from. We'll be over the cap no matter what.Horrible article.

First of all I can't see McDyess or Billups leave. Chauncey wants another chip badly and he has a good chance of getting it in Detroit. Billups has made his name known in Detroit after being moved around to a couple franchises. This is Billups home he has made this franchise great. Not to mention when Miami slows down after this year with Zo/Payton probabely retiring it opens up a big chance of Detroit returning to the conference finals for several more straight years. McDyess has been great off the bench in Detroit and loves playing with the Pistons franchise. I could see Dyess's contract extension being a pretty low price for Detroit to pursue another free agent addition for their bench. As for Chris Webber, I'm torn on this matter. Cwebb has said that he wants to go to New York or retire. Webber has proven that he can't stay on one franchise for long without creating a problem and if thoughts of retirement are in Webber's mind Detroit won't have him long term anyways. However, Webber has turned around his game in Detroit and helped them retain their rightful place of dominance in the Eastern Conference. The Webber situation will be an interesting one to watch un-foled over the off-season. As The Captain said, the Pistons will work over the cap so money should not be a big issue.
I can see Billups returning instantly, but McDyess, I'm optamistic. With Maxiell, Rasheed, even Amir Johnson, we have a logjam. I want Dice to return, and I think he will, but think about the future of Detroit.

Yep, I agree with everything The Captain said. As for Amir, I really hope we don't lose him, but if Dumars considers him "untouchable" I doubt he'll let him leave.
Can we sign Amir AND Webber spliting the MLE though? Is that gonna be enough? I really would love to see Webber Resign though, something on a 2 year deal at 3 million a year or somethin close...that'd make me happy. Hopefully Joe gives Amir a 7 year deal so he looks like a bargain down the road, like Ben Wallace did to us the final year of his deal.
