Gotta agree, McMinnville is a great town and getting better. It has an enviable number of excellent restaurants. Almost a little Portland in that way. If my wife and I had a reason to move, it would be the first place we’d look.
OMFG Pietro's has always been a fav of mine. Used to have one growing up in Puyallup back in the day and I bugged my parents to take me there all the time. Had multiple birthday parties there. They always had the old world pepperoni and just a grubbin' pie (to me anyway). Another reason I used to wanna go was they had a badass video arcade and play area. Eat a slice, go play Road Blasters, eat another slice, go play Hard Drivin', eat another slice, go play Golden Axe, etc. It had been about 15 years since they closed that one down, but when I moved to Salem for a couple years and saw there was one, I was like FUCK YEAH! Still liked the food, but the kids entertainment section was lacking (as if I should care in my twenties). I wonder if that one is still up and running. @BlazerDuckSeahawkFan94? Are there more Pietro's in OR other than Salem?
Stark Street Pizza for nostalgic purposes, Rovente and Pizza Nostra both have awesome carryout deals for you cheese pizza lovers, Pizza Jerk, Apizza Scholls, Straight From New York on Belmont, and Bridge City Pizza.
Stark Street is the best 1960's pizza joint in town. Starkey's by the bowling alley just on the east side of the river has amazing chewy crust doughy pizzas. Extra cheese and meatballs? To DIE for. Pizzicato is always good, and MOD Pizza is surprisingly really really good especially for the price.
Just curious, anyone ever had Marco's pizza? It's (supposedly) the fastest-growing pizza chain in the country. My first job here was delivering for them. VERY good pies, dough is made fresh in-store daily. As far as I know, they have a couple in California but none other on the west coast. Could be on the rise though.
Oh wow, googled "lebron james mod pizza" and got this: http://www.businessinsider.com/blaze-pizza-franchising-done-right-2017-7 Blaze pizza is a chain backed by LBJ and planning to expand. They say MOD is their main competition. MOD actually based in Seattle. I digress, the fact that LeBron is invested in Blaze Pizza MUST be a sign of things to come
What’s Marco’s? I don’t think I’ve even heard of it? I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in Cali.
Looks like they're only in SoCal https://www.google.com/search?q=mar...rome..69i57.6323j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Marco's also has REALLY good subs. There's something about the sandwich bread that's just delicious. They also have a great dish called the Meatball Bake, which is basically just sauce, cheese, meatballs, and sausage (I like to add mushrooms, jalapenos, and bacon). It's really a genius idea b/c it's cheap, but yummy. Costs $10, can feed 4-5.
I see the appeal with Mod in that you get as many toppings as you want but I think it is crap pizza. I used to like Hot Lips pizza.
