Dame and CJ's window is right now. In a small market, building through the draft is a must. However, trading the pick for immediate help also applies here. My question is -- what player would you target for a draft night trade? I'll start: Julius Randle. I believe he has the inside/outside/rebounding skill-set that meshes perfectly with Collins. If we keep Nurk, he could be an elite 6th man as well. Go!
We currently have the projected 26th draft pick. You'll get a bag of peanuts and some warm beer for that.
The Lakers were looking for a draft pick at the deadline for Julius. They were willing to unload anybody outside Kuz/Ball for a pick.
Ha! The time to get Randle was about a month ago, I purposed several trade machine scenerios regarding just him for our pick and filler and was publicly shamed for my stupidity. Maybe not that bad but I was called stupid.
Randle is a beast, he’s what a lot around here wish Biggie would turn into....doubtful. There are not a lot of Bull in China shop players like him. I’ll go as far as saying I’d rather have him than Nurk! Collins and Randle would be excellent together. Plus neither flings weak shit at the rim the second they feel contact.
If Chandler Hutchison is available we have to pick him. I’d even trade up to secure that dude. Yeah he’s not an established player but there’s no reason why he couldn’t make an impact from day one off the bench considering he’s a four year guy.
I wouldn’t mind seeing if the Kings were willing to part with Bogdan Bagdanovic for a first and Aminu/Harkless.
They won't. He's their best prospect after Fox and a building block for the future. On the other hand he is already 25 and Kings window to compete is probably 3-4 years away so well into his peak. We can't trade that pick for Randle as he will become RFA in July. The only way we can get Randle is via sign-and-trade and Lakers won't take back any of our contracts when they need to clear cap space. Besides that I think the way Randle has been playing lately they will want to keep him anyway. I would try to find a decent wing with our pick and let that player have time to develop. We are not going to get any great established talent for a very late first rounder. Last year people wanted to trade our picks for Thad Young or Trevor Booker. I don't want any of that shit.
Keep in mind. The op of this thread also started this thread. http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/c-j-is-horrible.277912/ Not something I'd try to associate myself when if I were you.
If Michael Porter Jr falls in the draft (say out of the top 6) I hope Neil tries to land him, like our pick, 2020 pick, Swanigan, Baldwin, Layman, and our Euro guys. Would never be enough tho
