He was not illegally investigated. In fact, the whole Russia investigation started long before any of the crap Nunes complained bout happened.

I would also like to point out that telling a lie to the FBI seldom turns out well for the liar.

Eventually he can but it would probably mean impeachment. Anyhow, he's gotten state prosecutors involved so the convictions would continue. Also, The Senate would probably just appoint him to finish their investigation which again leads to impeachment.

I don't see any path that leads him away from impeachment. It's just a matter of time.

    hahahahaha

Some people are going to be so disappointed when Mueller's done. When SNL admits the truth, it has to rock your echo chamber.

    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/...ump-russia-collusion-story-will-others-follow

Yes, the House committee findings are partisan -- they were released under the leadership of the committee's controversial chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes of California, are the work of Republicans on the committee, and are sure to be disputed by Democrats. But they are still the first official report ruling out collusion in the 2016 campaign.

And they were released in the context of some nervousness on the left that the collusion narrative, a fundamental element of Trump resistance, might not work out. The comic version of that came on "Saturday Night Live," in a skit -- a parody of "The Bachelor" -- in which special counsel Robert Mueller broke the news to an anti-Trump true believer that collusion might not have occurred.

"So, uh, you know that I've been struggling a little bit over the last few months just trying to figure this whole thing out and just grasp everything," the actor playing Mueller said. "The reality is I don't think I can give you everything that you want right now, and I think you sense that."

"So…what?" said the stunned woman. "You don't have Trump on collusion?"

"I think I need to explore the possibility that I have a stronger case with some other stuff," the Mueller actor said. "I'm just trying to be honest with you in telling you I can't commit to collusion right now."

Devastated, the woman responded: "Collusion is literally the only thing that I've been looking forward to the past year."

Back in the real world, none of Mueller's indictments or guilty pleas so far have alleged collusion. But it is always important to note that we do not know what is coming next.

No better than republicans attacking Mueller or democrats attacking Starr. Can't handle the truth? Attack the messenger!

You need to do some hole comparisons. Clearly.

(Note I've never said one negative thing about Mueller or Starr).

    Here it comes...
Strzok-Page texts reveal personal relationship between FBI official and judge recused from Flynn case

The federal judge who presided over former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s
case last year before mysteriously being recused had a personal relationship with anti-Trump FBI official Peter Strzok, according to text mesages obtained and reviewed by Fox News.

The revelations about U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras are found in a new batch of text messages between Strzok and his FBI paramour, Lisa Page.

Contreras was appointed to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) in 2016, a topic of conversation between Strzok and Page.

“Rudy is on the FISC! Did you know that?” Page texted Strzok on July 25, 2016. “Just appointed two months ago.”

“I did," Strzok replied. "We talked about it before and after. I need to get together with him.”

Strzok investigated matters of counterintelligence at the FBI, which typically went through the FISC.

Texts reflect Page asking why Strzok hadn’t told her about Contreras being on the FISC. Strzok said he thought he had shared the information.

In the texts, Strzok mentioned "a graduation party" he and Contreras both recently attended.

He also texted about the important of "being circumspect in talking to him in terms of not placing him into a situation where he’d have to recuse himself.”

The revelations about U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras, and a potential explanation for his recusal, were found in a new batch of text messages between FBI paramours Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. (United States District Court for the District of Columbia)

Page replied that she couldn’t “imagine either one of you could talk about anything in detail meaningful enough to warrant recusal.”

Page added: “Standards for recusal are quite high. I just don’t think this poses an actual conflict. And he doesn’t know what you do?”

Strzok replied: “Generally he does know what I do. Not the level or scope or area. But he’s super thoughtful and rigorous about ethics and conflicts.”

Flynn pleaded guilty before Contreras in December 2017 to making false statements to the FBI as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidental campaign and potential collusion with Trump campaign associates.

Strzok, who briefly served on the special counsel’s team before being reassigned to the FBI’s human resources division, oversaw the bureau's interviews with Flynn. That means he was likely one of the FBI officials involved in the conversations where Flynn is accused of making a false statement about his communications with Russians.

Days after Flynn’s guilty plea, Contreras was recused from the case, replaced by Judge Emmet Sullivan. No explanation for the recusal has been given up to this point. But experts think the relationship with Strzok may provide that missing piece of the puzzle.

“That explains why he recused himself,” former U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Joe diGenova told Fox News on Friday. “He knew he was a friend of Strzok’s when the case came to him. He should allow Flynn to withdraw the guilty plea.”

Contreras “never should have taken the case,” diGenova told Fox News. He noted the timing of Contreras' recusal, suggesting he made the move just as the Strzok-Page texts surfaced in the press.

Flynn pleaded guilty on Dec. 1. Reports began to surface of Strzok sending anti-Trump texts to Page on Dec. 2. Contreras recused himself from the case on Dec. 7.

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI in December 2017. (AP)

“Contreras violated the canons of judicial ethics,” diGenova said. “If he knew Strzok was in charge of espionage, he never should have even gotten near it.”

A spokesman for Mueller's probe declined to comment.

What truth did Starr have? That a deeply embarrassed married man lied about committing adultery? Kind of pales compared with money laundering, treason and a host of other felonies.

How many convictions did Star get? None? Now, Mueller is only half way through his investigation and he's already got felony convictions and indictments. More to come when he finishes.

This guy Mueller is really good and will uncover every rock turning up all that's rotten which there appears to be quite a bit of.

Deeply embarrassed man tampered with witnesses and otherwise obstructed justice, to deny a woman he assaulted from getting a fair hearing in court.

    http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1999/02/12/senate.statements/ashcroft.html

    (I paraphrase for brevity)
Article II of Clinton impeachment - Obstruction of justice and witness tampering

    1) He called Ms Currie (his secretary) into his office and coached her testimony to come before the grand jury, to lie so he had an alibi IN THE JONES CASE.
    2) He coached Lewinsky to file a false affidavit, denying her affair with the president because it would open him up to perjury charges.
    3) He made gifts to Lewinsky, to pay for her testimony, through his secretary, Ms. Curry. These gifts were relevant evidence in the JONES case.
    4) quid pro quo - he asked Vernon Jordan to find Lewinsky a job. He had refused to do so previously, but did so after obtaining her false affidavit and testimony in THE JONES case.
    5) Clinton stood mute while his attorney made representations to a federal judge that he knew to be false.
    6) Clinton testified he was truthful with his aides. Those aides testified that he lied to them.

That is just one of the articles of impeachment of Bill Clinton.

Also, to set you straight. Starr obtained convictions for:
    1) Robert Palmer
    2) Web Hubbel (Hillary's law partner, and #2 man in the state dept)
    3) Christopher Wade
    4) Neal Ainley
    5) Stephen Smith
    6) Larry Kuca
    7) Jim Guy Tucker (succeeded Clinton as governor of Arkansas)
    8) James McDougal
    9) Susan McDougal
    10) William Marks Sr
    11) John Haley

Convictions obtained by special prosecutors other than Starr:
    1) David Hale
    2) Eugene Fitzhugh
    3) Charles Matthews
    4) John Latham

Clinton pardoned Sudan McDougal, Robert Palmer, Stephen Smith, and Christopher Wade on the very day he left office (1/20/01).

Lanny, I agree that telling a lie to the FBI seldom turns out well for the Liar. And Im a believer that it shoulnt matter what party they belong to or how high up in a position a person is no one is infallible and should be held to the same standards as others. We have in both government and law enforcement bad actors that are dirty and to be exposed and held accountable.

The House Intelligence Committee on Friday declared that it found “no evidence” of collusion between the Russian government and Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election, releasing a heavily redacted final report on its yearlong Russia investigation.

The Republican-authored report -- released over Democratic objections -- stated the committee “found no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded, coordinated, or conspired with the Russian government.” The committee did, however, “find poor judgment and ill-considered actions by the Trump and Clinton campaign.”

President Trump, reacting to the report moments after its release, hailed its findings and said the Russia "Witch Hunt" must end, in an apparent swipe at Special Counsel Robert Mueller's ongoing investigation.

    READ THE DOCUMENT

“Just Out: House Intelligence Committee Report released. ‘No evidence’ that the Trump Campaign “colluded, coordinated or conspired with Russia.’ Clinton Campaign paid for Opposition Research obtained from Russia-Wow! A total Witch Hunt! MUST END NOW!” Trump tweeted.

The more than 250-page report was heavily blacked out, however, and the leader of the committee investigation slammed the intelligence community for their “overzealous redactions.”

“I am extremely disappointed with the overzealous redactions made by the IC. Many of the redactions include information that is publicly available, such as witness names and information previously declassified,” Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, complained in a statement Friday.

“I will continue to challenge the IC’s many unnecessary redactions with the hopes of releasing more of the report in the coming months.”

The committee’s investigation focused on several topics: Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. election, the U.S. government’s response to the attack, links between Russians and the Trump and Clinton campaigns, and purported leaks of classified information.

The investigation found that Russia's "increasingly aggressive cyber operations" would "continue to present a profound threat," while noting that Russian state actors were responsible for the "dissemination of documents and communications stolen from U.S. political organizations."

The report said the Russian government used media company "RT to advance its malign influence campaign" during the 2016 election, along with social media platforms to "sow social discord and to undermine the electoral process."

But the committee found “no evidence that Trump campaign associates were involved in the theft or publication of Clinton campaign-related emails, although Trump associates had numerous ill-advised contacts with WikiLeaks.”

The report also criticized the executive branch's "post-election response," calling it "insufficient."

The committee outlined “poor judgment” practiced by both campaigns, citing the June 2016 meeting at Trump Tower between members of the Trump campaign and Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya “who falsely purported to have damaging information on the Clinton campaign demonstrated poor judgment.”

“The Committee also found that the Clinton campaign and the DNC, using a series of cutouts and intermediaries to obscure their roles, paid for opposition research on Trump obtained from Russian sources, including a litany of claims by high-ranking current and former Russian government officials,” the report read. “Some of this opposition research was used to produce sixteen memos, which comprise what has become known as the Steele dossier.”

The committee also focused on leaks of classified information, noting that the number of leaks regarding Russian intentions to "help elect candidate Trump increased dramatically after the election day."

"Continued leaks of classified information have damaged national security and potentially endangered lives," the report read.

The committee also found that former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper provided "inconsistent testimony to the committee about his contacts with the media, including CNN." Clapper is now a CNN national security analyst. It is unclear at this point what information Clapper discussed with media outlets.

The report includes more than 25 recommendations for Congress and the executive branch to improve election security, U.S. government response to cyberattacks, campaign finance transparency, and counterintelligence practices related to political campaigns and unauthorized disclosures.

The release of the full report comes after committee leaders announced key findings last month, prompting a war of words between Republican and Democratic members. The GOP majority at the time reported finding no evidence of collusion between Russia and Trump campaign associates. They also said that based on the investigation, the controversial anti-Trump dossier compiled by British ex-spy Christopher Steele “formed an essential part of an application” to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court to obtain electronic surveillance on Trump adviser Carter Page.

Conaway took over the probe when House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., stepped down in April 2017 after he was accused of making “unauthorized disclosures of classified information, in violation of House Rules, law regulations, or other standards of conduct.”

Fox News' Chad Pergram contributed to this report.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...not-think-flynn-lied-despite-guilty-plea.html

House Intelligence Committee Republicans, in their newly released report concluding their Russia investigation, seemed to back up reports that FBI agents did not think ex-White House national security adviser Michael Flynn lied to them – despite his eventual guilty plea for making false statements.

Among the 44 findings in the report was a line stating that “Federal Bureau of Investigation agents did not detect any deception during Flynn's interview.”

The Washington Examiner’s Byron York first reported earlier this year that fired FBI boss James Comey had briefed lawmakers amid allegations Flynn had lied to Vice President Pence about conversations with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak and speculation he may have misled FBI agents who questioned him in January 2017. Comey reportedly told lawmakers at the time that agents who interviewed Flynn did not believe he lied in that Jan. 24 meeting, and that any inaccuracies in his account were unintentional.

House Intel Committee releases Russia report
Fast-forward to December, after the probe takeover by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, and Flynn would plead guilty to one count of making false statements to the FBI during that meeting.

HOUSE PANEL'S RUSSIA REPORT FINDS 'NO EVIDENCE' OF COLLUSION; TRUMP SAYS PROBE 'MUST END NOW'

The House Intelligence Committee report, which was disputed by Democrats and released over their objections, provides virtually no public information to back up its conclusion about Flynn’s interactions with the agents – as most of the section explaining that finding is redacted. (Committee Republicans have blasted the intelligence community over heavy redactions throughout the report.)

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI. (AP)

The public portion of the report does not make clear where that information came from – whether from Comey or another source.

Comey, however, denied that he ever told lawmakers agents didn’t believe Flynn intentionally lied.

    [IMG] Video
Comey: In words, Trump didn't order me to drop Flynn probe
“No,” he said in an interview Thursday with Fox News’ Bret Baier on “Special Report.” “I saw that in the media … maybe someone misunderstood something I said. I didn’t believe that. I didn’t say that.”

Flynn lost his job over the Russia contacts controversy -- and as recently as December, even President Trump claimed Flynn had "lied" to agents.

But last week, Trump defended Flynn as he castigated Comey, saying Flynn’s life has been “totally destroyed” while “shadey” James Comey can “Leak and Lie” and make “lots of money” from his newly released memoir.

Mueller’s team, meanwhile, has sought to delay Flynn’s sentencing, and is expected to file another joint-status report by May 1, following a special counsel motion on Feb. 1, 2018 suggesting they did not “believe that this matter is ready to be scheduled for a sentencing hearing at this time.”

    [IMG] Video
Is the case against Mike Flynn unraveling?
The delay was one of several curious developments in the proceedings. Days after accepting his guilty plea, the judge assigned to the case, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia Judge Rudolph Contreras, recused himself from the case, and was replaced by Judge Emmet Sullivan.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...ions-in-russia-report-amid-flynn-mystery.html

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is blasting the FBI and Department of Justice for “excessive and sloppy redactions” amid efforts to unseal a redacted section having to do with the FBI’s interview of former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

“The excessive and sloppy redactions applied to the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia report deny the American people the opportunity to know and understand the report’s full findings and conclusions,” Nunes told Fox News.

A key section of the report concludes FBI agents “did not detect any deception during Flynn’s interview” despite his eventual guilty plea in the special counsel’s Russia probe for making false statements.

A source familiar with the House Intelligence report told Fox News that heavily redacted sections on pages 53 and 54 back up the report’s conclusion about Flynn, and the source challenged former FBI Director James Comey’s public statements on the issue.

In his interview last week on Fox News’ “Special Report,” Comey denied that he ever told lawmakers his FBI agents didn’t believe Flynn intentionally lied.

“No, I saw that in the media,” Comey said. “Someone misunderstood something I said. I didn’t believe that and didn’t say that.”

The House Intelligence Committee report, which was disputed by Democrats and released over their objections, provides virtually no public information to back up its conclusion about Flynn’s interactions with the agents – as most of the section explaining that finding is redacted.

“The deliberate withholding of this vital information from the public is inexplicable and intolerable,” Nunes said. “Protecting executive branch officials and agencies from embarrassment is not a valid reason to hide information and will not be accepted by Congress.”

Speaking to Fox News’ Tucker Carlson after the report’s release, Nunes said it was impossible for Comey to know what investigators found because so many sections were blacked out.

“Mr. Comey probably never read our report, likely because the Department of Justice and FBI redacted so much of it, that if you go online and try to read our report, you’ll see that much of it you can’t even read,” Nunes said. “So he doesn’t know what we have.”

Among the 44 findings in the House Intelligence Committee report was a line stating that “Federal Bureau of Investigation agents did not detect any deception during Flynn's interview.”

Meanwhile, Mueller’s team this week delayed Flynn’s sentencing for a second time, citing “the status of the special counsel’s investigation.”

The delay was one of several developments in the proceedings. Days after accepting his guilty plea, the judge assigned to the case, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia Judge Rudolph Contreras, recused himself from the case, and was replaced by Judge Emmet Sullivan.

Earlier Wednesday, President Trump lashed out at his own Justice Department, tearing into officials for not cooperating with document requests from congressional Republicans while warning he could “use the powers” of the presidency to intervene in the dispute.

The president didn’t specify the documents he says the DOJ won't release. He also didn't say which presidential powers he is referring to, though it could be anything from declassifying files to extracting documents sought by Congress to perhaps intervening in the Russia probe.

The FBI and DOJ referred Fox News’ questions about the redactions as well as the timing to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Fox News will update the reporting when comment becomes available.

So it's now been exposed that the entire FBI attempt to keep Hilary out of prison and install her as a puppet President included illegally embedding a mole in the Trump campaign as early as 2015, preceding any so-called Russia meddling investigation.

Everything Mueller has done is now moot, as it all arose out of an attempt to overthrow our government or an attempt to retain control of our government which had already been overthrown from within.

Rice, Powers, Lynch, Comey, Clinton, Biden, Obama, Mueller, Rosenstein, Ho;der, Mccain, Kerry, Soros, Steyer, Bloomberg are all under the microscope and will likely end up being known as the most traitorous group in US History.

Britain is knee-deep in the coup cover-up, and brings the likelyhood of eventual indictments for treason by several Obama cabinet members.

Dearlove Connections – UK Intel Firm Hakluyt, Alexander Downer, Stefan Halper & Papadopoulos
May 9, 2018 by Jeff Carlson, CFA

This post owes a debt to three sources:
Note: For a detailed sequencing of events see, Ties That Bind – Stefan Halper, Joseph Mifsud & Alexander Downer (& Papadopoulos). Posts are complimentary.

We’ve been postulating that foreign intelligence – primarily from the UK – was used by CIA Director Brennan to initiate the FBI’s July 2016 Counterintelligence Investigation and push the Russia Narrative.

Thanks to the work cited above, some details regarding a very private UK Intelligence firm have surfaced.

Hakluyt is British strategic intelligence and advisory firm. It was founded by former MI6 members and retains close ties to UK Intelligence services.

In the small circular world of professional spooks, Hakluyt has ties with three unexpected individuals:
    • Australian diplomat Alexander Downer.
    • Stefan Halper, a former policy advisor to Nixon, Ford and Reagan.
    • George Papadopoulos
Alexander Downer famously met with George Papadopoulos at a London Bar in May 2016. This meeting would be used by the FBI as their excuse behind opening the July 2016 Counterintelligence Investigation.

Note: The FBI didn’t bother to interview Papadopoulos until January 27, 2017. The conversation in question took place in May 2016. The FBI knew of this conversation no later than July 2016.

    From the New York Times:

During a night of heavy drinking at an upscale London bar in May 2016, George Papadopoulos, a young foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, made a startling revelation to Australia’s top diplomat in Britain: Russia had political dirt on Hillary Clinton.

About three weeks earlier, Mr. Papadopoulos had been told that Moscow had thousands of emails that would embarrass Mrs. Clinton, apparently stolen in an effort to try to damage her campaign.

The diplomat, Alexander Downer, informed the Australian government of the conversation.

Two months later, when leaked Democratic emails began appearing online, Australian officials passed the information about Mr. Papadopoulos to their American counterparts.

The hacking and the revelation that a member of the Trump campaign may have had inside information about it were driving factors that led the FBI to open an investigation in July 2016.

Buried at the bottom of the Times article was the following:

It is unclear whether Mr. Downer was fishing for that information that night in May 2016. The meeting at the bar came about because of a series of connections, beginning with an Israeli Embassy official who introduced Mr. Papadopoulos to another Australian diplomat in London.

An Israeli official, who Papadopoulos knew, introduced him to another Australian diplomat who introduced Papadopoulos to Downer. There’s more to this story.

As previously noted, Alexander Downer has long-standing ties to the Clinton Foundation.

Downer personally arranged one of the largest foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation – $25 million from the Australian government.

Less known is that Downer was on the Advisory Board of Hakluyt (the private UK intelligence firm) from 2008-2014.

He reportedly still maintains contact with Hakluyt officials. From a News Corp Australia article:

British foreign officials have privately expressed disquiet about Australia’s diplomatic post link to a shadowy security firm that sells intelligence to corporate clients.

Created by former MI6 British Secret Service agents, Hakluyt is an ultra secretive firm whose client list reads like a who’s who of the business world with corporations retaining their services for strategic intelligence and advice as they look to expand operations.

Australian High Commissioner to the UK Alexander Downer had been on the advisory board of the London-headquartered firm since 2008 when he was a UN special envoy but was forced to give up the position when he was appointed to head the Australian diplomatic post in London in 2014.

But it can be revealed Mr Downer has still been attending client conferences and gatherings of the group, including a client cocktail soiree at the Orangery at Kensington Palace a few months ago.

Downer stock divestitures listed on January 23, 2015. Actual transfer date August 7, 2014.

The firm’s top officials come from MI6. Several Board Members come from GCHQ – the UK’s NSA.

Hakluyt’s Parent Holdco is Holdingham. Holdingham’s Advisory Board & Directors.

One Board member stands out. Ambassador Louis Susman (bio here). Susman received his Ambassadorship through fundraising abilities & Chicago connections with Obama.

    Chicago Magazine:

The retired Chicago businessman Louis Susman recently became the U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom, an appointment widely regarded as the prize for his ferocious fundraising on behalf of the Obama campaign.

Derided by the British press as the “vacuum cleaner,” Susman is only the most prominent example of a continuing—and questionable—American tradition.

    The Guardian:

Nicknamed the Vacuum Cleaner for his ability to hoover up cash for Democratic politicians, Louis Susman is a low-key veteran Chicago investment banker known for possessing one of the fattest contact books in the mid-west.

Before rattling the tin for Barack Obama, Susman generated $244m (£156m) as national finance director of John Kerry’s presidential bid and he played a key fund-raising role for previous White House hopefuls including Bill Bradley, Dick Gephart and Edward Kennedy.

Susman is close to Hillary Clinton. He would feature in several Wikileaks emails – here, here, here.

    Things get stranger still.

Papadopoulos didn’t only meet with Downer. He also met with several other unusual contacts.

One was Josef Mifsud – a London-based Maltese professor “whose academic credentials appear mysteriously thin.” Mifsud introduced Papadopoulos to the Russian ambassador in London and a woman he told Papadopoulos was the niece of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Mifsud meetings took place in March 2016.

It was reportedly Mifsud who told Papadopoulos the Kremlin had “dirt” on Hillary Clinton. It was this information that Papadopoulos supposedly relayed to Alexander Downer.

There has been speculation that Mifsud was working with UK Intelligence. Julian Assange put out a Twitter Thread noting the connection between Mifsud and UK Intelligence. More on Mifsud will probably be revealed.

Another odd meeting occurred between Papadopoulos and Dr. Stefan Halper. The Daily Caller reported on the meeting:

Two months before the 2016 election, George Papadopoulos received a strange request for a meeting in London, one of several the young Trump adviser would be offered — and he would accept — during the presidential campaign.

The meeting request, which has not been reported until now, came from Stefan Halper, a foreign policy expert and Cambridge professor with connections to the CIA and its British counterpart, MI6.

The Halper meeting occurred on September 13, 2016. The Downer meeting took place in May 2016. The Mifsud meeting took place in March 2016.

Papadopoulos questioned Halper’s motivation for contacting him, according to a source familiar with Papadopoulos’ thinking. That’s not just because of the randomness of the initial inquiry but because of questions Halper is said to have asked during their face-to-face meetings in London.

According to a source with knowledge of the meeting, Halper asked Papadopoulos: “George, you know about hacking the emails from Russia, right?”

Halper is a Cambridge Fellow. He was a Senior Policy Advisor to Presidents Nixon, Ford & Reagan (bio here).

Halper had previously invited Carter Page to attend a July 2016 symposium held at Cambridge regarding the upcoming election. The speaker list was notable:

    • Madeleine Albright (former U.S. Secretary of State)
    • Vin Weber (Republican Party strategist and former Congressman)
    • Ambassador Peter Ammon (German Ambassador to the UK)
    • Sir Richard Dearlove (former head of MI6)
    • Bridget Kendall (BBC diplomatic correspondent and the next Master of Peterhouse College)
    • Sir Malcolm Rifkind (former Defence and Foreign Secretary)
Page attended the symposium just four days after his July 2016 Moscow trip. Page met with Halper during the London visit. Page’s Moscow trip would figure prominently in the Steele Dossier…

Halper also requested – and attained – a meeting with another, unknown, Trump Campaign member on September 11, 2016 – two days before the Papadopoulos meeting.

Halper “offered to help the campaign” but did not mention the Papadopoulos meeting to the second staffer – nor the staffer meeting to Papadopoulos.

Curiously, despite the offers of campaign help, on November 3, 2016, Halper publicly stated that Clinton would be the best option for US-UK relations.

    One other particularly interesting note.

Halper has connections to the UK Intelligence firm Hakluyt through Jonathan Clarke, with whom he has co-authored two books. You can find a June 2004 video of the pair discussing their first book here.

Jonathan Clarke is the U.S. Representative – Director U.S. Operations for Hakluyt. Clarke is a fairly public figure – but it was quite difficult to locate references to his association with Hakluyt.

Given the lengthy association between Halper and Clarke, I expect we will find additional ties between Halper, other members of Hakluyt and members of British Intelligence.

Halper’s association with former MI6 Head Richard Dearlove – via their previous positions at Cambridge Intelligence Seminar – is already known.

Halper has an impressive background. But as the Daily Caller pointed out, Halper is still remembered for one other event. From a 1983 UPI article:

The New York Times reported the Reagan campaign headquarters conducted a data-gathering operation to collect inside information on Carter foreign policy and used a number of former CIA officials in the effort.

It said Stefan Halper, a campaign aide who handled communications for Bush and provided news updates and policy ideas to the traveling Reagan party, was in charge of the operation.

Papadopoulos speculated to the Daily Caller that the Downer/Halper meetings may have been a spy operation.

Connections with Richard Dearlove – the former MI6 Head – keep turning up. He appears to be the one constant in the overseas connections. As far as I can tell, he knows every single player.

Here is a video of the only UK televised interview Dearlove has done. He makes some interesting comments:

Trump is President. And that is a large element of unpredictability. Trump is only going to be there, probably, for another three years. We need to think more broadly.

He’s done some unpredictable things, but I don’t think you should necessarily judge the Intelligence relationship in terms of Trump’s tweets.

Regarding the Steele Dossier and Christopher Steele:

I won’t confirm or deny that I knew Christopher. I think there is probably some credibility to the content. I wouldn’t put it any more forcibly than that.

I’ve maintained that John Brennan held a central role in establishing the FBI’s Trump-Russia Investigation and pushing the Trump-Russia Narrative. Clapper provided assists.

I’m growing ever more curious as to the true role of Richard Dearlove.

Here is what I’ve added to A Listing of Participants on Hakluyt:

    • Ambassador Louis Susman – Advisory Board Member. Former U.S. Ambassador to UK.
    • Alexander Downer – Former Advisory Board Member. Australia’s top diplomat in Britain. Previously UN Envoy to Cyprus. Met with George Papadopoulos in London. Downer was an Advisory Board Member from 2008-2014. He reportedly still maintains contact with Hakluyt officials.
Hakluyt’s Parent Holdco is Holdingham. Holdingham’s Advisory Board & Directors.

Hakluyt’s role is not yet fully understood. May have involvement in Papadopoulos meeting.

    • Dr. Stefan Halper – Cambridge Fellow. Senior Policy Advisor to Presidents Nixon, Ford & Reagan. Halper met w/Papadopoulos on 9-13-16 and senior Trump Campaign official on 9-11-16. Invited Carter Page to 7-16-16 Cambridge symposium. Halper reportedly brought up subject of Russian hacking of Clinton emails. In November 2016, Halper stated that Clinton would be best for U.S.-UK relations.
Halper has a close association with former MI6 Head Richard Dearlove.

While not known to be directly employed by Hakluyt, Halper has connections through Jonathan Clarke (co-authored two books). May know Alexander Downer as well.

Hakluyt/Holdingham is a secretive firm. It is difficult to obtain much information. Hakluyt historically maintained ties w/Kissinger’s firm. Connected to MI6 through long-standing relationships.
