Interesting topic, considering the United States has just gone through one of the deadliest school shootings in history.

It's why the H-E Double hockey sticks was there no precautionary measures after the first killing?"Okay, there is someone dead and the killer is on the loose. Should we issue a lockdown?""No, I don't think so. Let's just continue like normal and maybe he'll go away."And wouldn't you think if teachers were allowed to have a gun in the classroom, that they could have taken out this animal before so many died?Dennis Prager said it best.

Leave that to law enforcement. And plus on such an open campus, precautionary measures are pretty complicated to put in hand. It's not as simple as saying let's put this entire campus on lockdown and that will stop the killings.

It certainly wasn't hard AFTER the 22 people died.

I was actually coming back to this thread to post that article as well. This stuff happens everyday. The last thing these crazy fukks need is easy access to a gun. When it's so easy like it is, this crap will happen. It's never gonna stop..in fact it will just get worse. Much worse. And your solution is...MORE GUNS?Yeah let's give everybody a gun, that way nobody will ever kill anybody. You are so clueless man.

They did a hell of a job rescuing wounded students and making sure the area was safe. Giving handguns to teachers is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Giving professors weapons wouldn't have solved anything but possibly make it worse. Also, didn't one of the shootings occur in a dorm? Is your next idea to give students guns to protect themselves or possibly shoot the assailant?

"We don't need gun control, we need bullet control. Make it cost 5000 dollars to buy a bullet. That way, when you piss a guy off he'll say 'Motherf_cka! I'ma get me a second job, and work overtime, and in a few months you better watch yo' back!"

Or even better yet, just some kid mouthin off. Teachers deserve guns, it's pretty obvious. And when they go to the bathroom, and the gun was unprotected in her desk..nothing would ever take place from that.Afterall guns don't kill people, people do. Everybody gets a gun!!

In today's shooting it wouldn't have mattered if the professor had a gun. That student would've known and would have taken measures to kill him first. Thus, giving the shooter another weapon. See, it doesn't accomplish anything because attackers like this would plan for the teacher having one, in fact, it makes the teacher more of a target.....thus why I don't ever want teachers having guns, first, I don't think it's needed, second, it's more dangerous and teachers are teachers, not police officers. Same reason why I think pilots shouldn't have weapons but air marshalls should be allowed on planes. Putting firearms in teachers hands doesn't solve anything, it just gives potential attackers a weapon to take, it sends the wrong message to students, I'm sure teachers don't want to carry guns, no school should have 30 teachers with 9mm's.....it's insanity in my mind....it makes the problem worse.

Alright, I may have overreacted on some parts, but it just makes me utterly pissed when things like this happen and the gun control crazies come out in full force and say guns are what caused this. Like guns are the devil's tool.

For example School shootings - Turn schools into prisons and give teachers guns Terrorist attack - Take away peoples rights and turn the country into a police state. Controversial radio - Fire anyone who makes a controversial statment.

I think I summed it up well in another forum-My solution is it's not worth it to punish the responsible gun owners for the crazies who kill people in homicide. I could see it if hundreds of thousands of people were being murdered by guns each year. If 50% of all guns bought were used in crimes, I could see it as well. But the 10,000 people who are murdered by guns, and the .05 percent of guns that are used in deaths, isn't enough IMO. It is tragic, but you can't just jump out and say "Guns=Bad, all should be gone". You have to look at the whole picture. Freemen own guns, slaves don't. People have a right to defend themselves and their loved ones. Being free comes with cost people. You can't expect it to be perfect. I personally feel guns are just like alcohol. If used responsibly, it's great. If not, it could result in deaths.By the way Combs, what's up with Pistons.com?

We just saw today why gun control in America should be stricter.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Alright, I may have overreacted on some parts</div>Least you admit it.I don't think I ever gave my stance on gun control but mostly because I don't really have one. I see both points of view and while gun control may sound good on paper. Let's face it, everyone has to be on the same page for it to work. Everyone, otherwise it will just fail like Communism. May look like a great idea on paper, when executed, it will fail.
