I think we all agree that Imus shouldnt of said that on air, but for crying out loud, I bet that every single one of those girls listens to rap music on a daily basis where black rappers call girls hoes and sh*t like that all the time. They certainly dont find that offensive. Its quite alright for them to call eachother that, but they cant forgive a white guy who has apoligized. In return other "black leaders" are calling for his job and want the man fired.</div>Really just because they're black they listen to rap music now?And not every artist sits back and says ho's and bitches all the time..............

No, I just said that a large amount of rappers refer to women as bitches and hoes and it is acceptable and is not made into a big deal. All I'm saying is you cant be hyercritical and use a double standard.

Re: Don Imus fighting back! ok say what you're saying here is I may be wrong but help me out if I'm wrong, Because Rap artist sit back and call women ho's and bitches it shouldn't be as serious when they are getting called that by anybody else no matter what race, nor age, black women should not get mad because they get called that by other people. If that paragraph doesn't sound wrong then I don't know whats right or wrong anymore.
Re: Don Imus fighting back! You know what imma just leave this thread because apparently you have to be drunk and retarded to understand any of this.

Somebody needed to say it.Do you know what pisses me off? Dave Zirrin, a personal friend of mine and a guy long known as the man when it comes to pointing out inequalities in sports, jumped on the easy bandwagon of attacking Imus, rather than writing an article like that. I have a lot less respect for Zirrin now.

Re: Don Imus fighting back! If a black reporter would say this about a white girls team it would be not a big deal at all this is way too overboard of a topic, now that he got fired I feel bad he doesn't deserve itAl Sharpton is just a fool

I'm sure Martin Luther king did not fight his heart out to get black rights for African American so they can go around calling each other the N word.

Would there have been a peep?</div> Exactly, I've heard Michael Savage blatently bash homosexuals on the air and nobody says anything. This was a crusade by the media during a slow news period to bury NBC and make it look bad.
Re: Don Imus fighting back! Why has everybody forgotten what this started over? When people talk about it now al I hear is theese two things :1. Don Imus has been wronged, and 2. Al Sharpton is a idiot (which he is).Why is this no longer mainly about the girls, theese are girls who went to college being called hoes, it's not about that in black culture the word ho is thrown around so easily , its about that on a national stage he called out a specific amount of girls and called them women who sell their bodies because no training in other fields of work or don't want to get a real job. This isn't about race it's about that he called a group of girls names that they didn't deserve to be called names in the first place.
Re: Don Imus fighting back! Oh please, this has nothing to do with those girls anymore, it was never about those girls and how they felt, it was about the words he said and how the media overreacted, if Imus called those girls a bunch of dumb niggers who should be hanging from a tree...then it would be more about the girls than it is....the statements were not 'bad' enough to have the story based on the girls reaction. This story brought out a lot of other things which have brought out discussion. Mainly because of black activists getting involved....they have taken over the story.
