Event 2018 NCAA March Madness

There was actually a lot of posters that complained about the Blazers drafting someone who was white. There were people who legitimately compared him to Meyers. People rant about crazy stuff, I don't know what your stance is on things because you're new. When you come in here and make a first post that reads like a rant on skin color, you can't blame people for not liking it.

 

I'm glad I could help you see that this forum isn't right for you. I hope you find a forum that meets all your needs and entertains your "jokes" on race.

I don't want someone around that views race in this light. I always had a problem with Mediocre Man for this reason, and we'd say stuff as egregious as "I hope this doesn't stick around" (which isn't that egregious), and none of it was every a big deal. If this was a real opinion, then it's extremely negative, wrong, and trollish, and a negative thing for the forum. I know some agreed with me as some liked my post.

But since he says it's a joke, I have no problem with him, other than the fact that he's overreacting to someone misinterpreting a "joke" for what could very easily come across as a serious, trollish post. If this dude has this type of reaction towards someone taking a "joke" about race serious, then he wouldn't be able to handle the jokes and razzing that HCP would give him (and HCPs gotten much better in that regard). Afterwards, I tried to have a basketball conversation with him and joked about his name in the same light he was joking about race (I guess I could've made it more obvious I was joking, but that's my point, he could've too). I'm not sitting here freaking out on him for taking my post "seriously".

 

Maybe we should really work on all of us treating new forum members with a bit more respect. I would hate to see new members chased off for just voicing their opinions. I think I speak for the majority on here.

 

Dude, I've admitted that it didn't seem like a joke and that I only took problem with it because it seemed serious. What more do you want and why are you still upset?

Hey man, don’t leave just because one member treated you poorly. Trust me, it’s not you. He has a history of having major issues with a lot of members in here. We’re really trying hard to keep our little forum going on in spite of his attacks. Holler at The HCP if you have any questions or concerns. Once again, welcome and hope you stick around. I got called an idiot and told i wouldn’t last multiple times, the key is not giving a shit. Try not to take sports forum banter seriously, for every user who rags on you theres another one who will agree with you.

 

It's funny to me how someone who was obviously trolling and only played the "I was joking" card when he got called out as being racist is now being treated like a victim here and heralded as some good poster who got attacked for no reason.

I don't want him to leave but it's pretty weak to come in here looking for a fight and then to get all butt hurt and take your ball and go home when you get one.

 

When did I say I knew everything about you? When did I call you an idiotic racist? I take pride in scaring you away? What are you talking about? All of those things are made up.

When someone says something that sounds 100% serious to you and would be weird if it was passed off as a joke, do you ask them if it's a joke?
