It will be either the Los Angeles Clippers, Golden State Worriors, or Oklahoma City/New Orleans Hornets. We in all reality wont lose to any of these teams, but who do you want to play? I think that last year when we played the Grizzlies, it really helped us out later. They had a system that was like the Spurs. They werent as good as the Spurs of course, but they played great defense like the Spurs, had a great big man in Pau, and had good shooters in Eddie Jones, Atkins, and Mike Miller. Very similar to the Spurs. Even though we swept them, they kept the games close most of the games and even took us to an awesome overtime game. (Remember where Damp tips the ball out to Dirk and he hits the three over Pau to send it to OT?) I think that really helped us get used to playing the slow tempo of the Spurs. It was a really good tune up series for us. I think that only one of these teams could do the same this year. Only one of the teams in contention for the 8th spot plays similar to one of our "rivals". That would be the Worriors playing similar to the Suns. Now just like the Grizzlies played like the Spurs, but not the great extent of that of the Spurs, the Worriors do the same with Phoenix. Now no one in the league plays like Steve Nash and Golden State doesn't have anyone that plays Amare ball, they do play run and gun and shoot a ton of threes. We've also had some trouble with Golden State in the past, so I think they would be playing better basketball against us than that of the Clippers or Hornets could. It would really help us get ready for Phoenix in the Conference Finals if we do end up playing them there. Although it sure would be nice to see Kobe knock them out in the 1st round. :happy0144: :dunno:

I think this one is a no-brainer. NOK Hornets. Haven't we beat them something like 22 or 23 times in a row?

Well Golden State is the hottest team right now between those team so pretty much anyone but Golden State.

They are both damn fine teams, though.

The Warriors would get us ready for the tougher games, but I think it could also wear us down early. The Mavs would almost certainly beat them, no offense Warriors, but it would be tough considering how they play similar to Phoenix and the recent struggles we've had against them. I would rather play either the Clipps or Hornets as opposed to the Warriors. Last year I would have def. said the Hornets, but the Clippers have somewhat fallen off compared to last year mainly due to their injuries.

Now you say we will rape the Warriors.Flip flopper.

Well, I think Dallas would like to play NOK the most...They dont have much experience in the playoffs, and they are the worst team out of the 3.In the next round, I think Dallas would want to play Utah. Tracy and Yao are such a great duo and they are capable of doing some damage...I just think that Utah has less experience in the playoffs and wouldnt do as well.

That extra 2 games plus playing an on fire houston rockets will take away their rest advantage. The mavs were relying on having an advantage of being more rested than the suns or spurs, now they're potentially going to play against the three hottest teams in the west (besides the mavs themselves) on their route to the finals. That's not exactly a cakewalk route to the finals. The warriors-mavs-spurs are a tiring, if not daunting, lineup as they're all on a hot streak and they've all beaten the mavs twice.

So you think the Rockets are going to be a tougher task than the Suns? The Mavs and Spurs will probably be in the WCF but not one more tired than the other.

Wishful thinking I think. The mavs have taken all teams out this year except the Warriors but the times they met the Warriors were not good. I expect them to win it all and prove you wrong about Dirk not being clutch.

I've been pulling for Hornets just cause Ford Center is like 30 minutes away. But then I realized im to broke to go to an NBA game, none the less a playoff game. Hornets still have to play Nuggets, Rocktes, & Clippers, that will be tough for them
