I wonder how worn out he was after carrying the team to that win. Almost every shot has been short. Needs to get loose and get warm during the halftime break.

Like the baseball player, Zach has been ice cold for awhile now.
They're doing other things, but... god help me. I might put Nards in depending if Nurk picks up the 4th early.
Just to keep the rotations together.

Is this a bigger game because of what it would mean as a loss or what it would mean to win?

Even with a loss, we're still in a great position, but if we win, it'll all but gauruntee the 3 seed (unless we lose a bunch of games we should win).

 

I'm not. Dame should get more calls sometimes, but I'm fine with how many FTs he's taking.

 

I don't think this game means much for Portland.
Pelicans though still have a shot at the 4. They need this game.

 

Gotta rebound better this half and limit second chances.

 

But Zach doesn't have to hit shots to be effective like Pat (well, Pat makes hustle plays so he can still be effective, but hitting shots is more of a factor of his overall production compared to Zach's). I like Zach protecting the rim. We haven't seen much of him protecting the rim because he's usually guarding a stretch or perimeter-oriented four, so he's not in the paint. He and Aminu could both be good options to guard Davis.

We could try something weird and put Turner on Okafor, Aminu on Holiday, and Collins on Davis, or some combination like that, providing switchability between Collins and Aminu on Davis and Holiday (Holiday isn't as quick as most PGs, instead he scores a lot off of his size and craftiness. Zach doesn't really get fooled when guarding the perimeter and I think could do a serviceable job on Holiday).

If they're playing Davis at C, you could have Turner guard the 4-man (Diallo, Miller, or whatever undersized 4 they put there) and let Aminu guard Holiday, providing the same switchability.

 

Not me. Collins is really struggling. His defense was soft on his shift.

 

I think it means a loss because it'd be a huge boost in locking up the 3-seed. Would like the team to get some rest before the playoffs.

 

The other option is Meyers. I'd rather have Collins there. His playing time has been a little sporadic, so it might be a good idea to get him a little extra burn that might get him playing better in a situation that is a good one for him.

 

Why can't the NBA figure out how to make a decent boxscore on their website. Fucking garbage.

 

Turner has had some stretches of very poor defense lately.

Great drive by CJ, attack Davis as he's in foul trouble, but try to score.

 

Nurk has to be careful going over the back there.

 

If Zach was in Nurk's spot, Davis doesn't get that dunk.

 

Oh come on. Aminu traveled but that was the exact same action Davis didn't get called for in the 1st.

 

Aminu always travels on that move.
