What a pitching debut for SF eh? I got to see those first few shutout innings in that game...Mariners got the opener ...great start to the season...I watched Ichiro's amazing home run save...at 44 the dude is amazing still....I'd hate to bat against Johnny Cueto..that guys windup is a mystery to me

According to BG some prankster got on Wikipedia and changed the Dodger’s ownership to Joe Panik. Priceless.

For a guy who's into analytics this makes no sense to me....baseball stats are as advanced as they get in pro sports...it's a great game if you understand chess match between a batter and a pitcher...a double play is a thing of beauty...a walk off grand slam is great...it's a game of patience and strategy...best hit in baseball is down the left or right field line over the first or third baseman...in my view baseball is one of the greatest sports on the planet...football is meant for selling beer...pure coaches game...takes forever to run 20 seconds off the clock...a small army for a roster...have to huddle and discuss the next play and the quarterback has a guy in a booth calling his plays.....it's a game of penalties and pauses...Rugby is 80 minutes of sport...only injury timeouts...you get knocked down, you get up and run again...I'll take rugby over American football everyday

But every football play is action packed compared to a pitch.

timeout....15 yard penalty...we pause for station identification.....football sucks and I love sports...I'll watch a grand slam tennis match anytime over a football game. A pitch is like an assist in basketball...the catcher gets the stop and maybe gives the offense the ball by picking off a runner trying to steal a base...you have to have grown up with great baseball to appreciate it apparently....I liked football as a kid until I compared it to other sports later in life...it bores the hell out of me these days..but that's an opinion...go on..enjoy football...I also played baseball quite a bit ....used to call games for little league..frickin love the little league world series ..the US, Puerto Rico..Taiwan, Cuba and Japan are always in the mix in the world championships...I love Pat Casey's Beavers ball club...amazing record of nat'l championships from a city of 80 thousand people....the guy turned down millions of dollars to stay in Corvalis

Football is more boring. That's more so they keep having to try to sell to us that the game is actually watchable.

Sorry you're not into the best sport in the world, baseball. ;)

You do realize that there's just as much mystery (if not more) that goes into every pitch than a football play, right? If you learned the game and nuances of it, it's no doubt the best sport. It's that the media is trying to cultivate a liking to football and a disdain for baseball, slowly and subtlety. It's quite obvious. But, in reality, there's just as much potential action in a pitch as there is in football.

It's true. If you dig into the history of the great game, you get hooked. Most beautiful sport, and they'll never be a game that overtakes it

I understand the nuances of baseball, I'm not entertained by them.

Oh so because of timeouts, penalties, and ads, you don't like football? Why do you like basketball then, with all the timeouts, free throws, and ads?

Again, baseball fans always try to explain the nuances of baseball. Thing is, I completely understand the nuances, and there's not much entertainment value in them.

redundant baited question Bones...when you learn to stop throwing these out there you'll up your quality of experience... you enter a baseball appreciation thread you deal with the consequences...ingrain this in your brain....riverman doesn't like American football much at all....sell somebody else....love me some baseball, basketball, tennis and rugby though...thought that was already addressed
