I'm talking about La La Land. A jazz musical. I've seen it in the cable guide for a long time but it looked so boring that I've been avoiding it. I was doing something with the TV on and was too busy to change the channel when that came on. That was one lucky break. The music was great and the acting was great. Kind of a jazz inspired tragedy love story. I highly recommend it if you like jazz and you like good acting.
Not a big musical fan, but one I enjoyed was Across the Universe which was a story during the Vietnam era and featured Beatles music.
Y'all need to see RENT. Best musical. Going to see Chicago on my b-day while in NYC. Love the music for that show. Soooo good.
Fiddler on the roof....loved it..for jazz I liked Mo Better Blues with Denzel...not a musical per say...also liked Bird by Clint Eastwood..
The best song from the best Rock and Roll musical ever. https://video.search.yahoo.com/yhs/...0935655c71b9e54ee0aaff9c1d534e7d&action=click
LaLa Land was fantastic. One of my faves in the past few years. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone has such great chemistry. We saw Hamilton at the Keller last night. Did not expect to like it as much as I did. Not really a rap/hip hop guy But it deserves all the accolades it has gotten. Wildly entertaining, great music and story. Audacious casting. Big thumbs up.
