some credit for trying to secure our borders.
If people from a couple blocks over started to take over your property (fence issues count) home and bogged your neighborhood down, if you were honest, you'd want some kind of control and management over it, especially if they were stealing your vegetables form your garden, gas out of your tank, etc.

This nimrod is the only Pres I can remember and Im an old fart that has the balls to take on all sides to protect our sovereign border.
If you enter Mexico illegally 1st time 5 years, second time 10 years in the Holiday Inn.

The guard going down there to help i any way makes a whole lot of since bet I'd bet our Governor won't help at all.

Trump doesn't like Hispanic people. You think he would secure the boarders and want to build a wall if we bordered Russia?

Great post, but Kate Brown will have no say if the National Guard is sent to secure our borders. The issue was pushed by Bush I, Bill Clinton and Bush II, but fully implemented by Obama's 2012 National Defense Authorization Act on Dec. 31, 2011 when it included promotion of the National Guard"s senior officer to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The Commandant's are fully directed by the President > Sec. of Defense> Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Russians aren't entering the country illegally by the millions and exhausting billions of dollars in benefits that were intended for US citizens. It's not about racism, it's a fiscal nightmare. Screaming racism is over-simplifying the issue and really just a lazy excuse for an argument.

And the Trump propaganda machine just keeps on working. You do understand what a hypothetical situation is don't you? Explain this to me. Why does trump keep blaming the Democrats for no DACA when he was the one that eliminated it and has the power to put it back into play? I bet a DACA provision would pass if Trump didn't keep trying to attach his $20+ billion wall to the deal.

If the boy who cried wolf fucked chicken little, their offspring would be a liberal from the Portland metropolitan area. My Lord. At least attempt to formulate some type of logical argument to defend your position of letting anybody into the country, no questions asked. You fuckers want a 1000 point inspection on everyone who wants to buy a gun but are willing to turn your back on an open border where anyone from anywhere in the world, including terrorists, can waltz right in. Beyond fucking stupid.

    Cup,
I don't know the man's true heart or convictions, but I cant see that he has such a grudge, that he wants manageable border security for that reason. Personally, I thinks reasonable & common sense to have control over our borders. And if it was Russia or whatever country with the same years of bad management, id be for improved border security.
Even Canada has stricter more manageable border security than us. Used to spend a lot of time up there years ago and when Hong Kong went communist and BC was getting many Chinese wanting to relocate they could not even get in for permanent residency unless they had $250K in vested in some kind of business. What needed population growth but with people who could afford and contribute their society. I see nothing wrong with that. When I played in an Elks basketball league I had to become a member and pay dues and attend meetings. Just policy and nothing wrong with that.
If all it takes is for an illegal alien to vote, is show an address to register in some States I can see the incentive for certain parties to encourage a mass boom in illegal's regardless where they come from.
Again, Im a libertarian that believes in checks and balances, small gov more enterprise, term limits and a whole lot of fun.
I hope you can respect my take as I do yours! I know we are form the same era and sports backgrounds (baseball. North Portland) Broadway & Yaws. And oh yeah water skiing. When i was in early twenties I use to ski from Oak Grove Train Tressel to OC and back fully clothed, without stoping. about 6 miles round trip.

Answer your irrelevant question? No thanks.

Deferred action for children who are already here is a different issue than securing the borders and preventing further illegal immigration.

Yeah well, that was never true when people said it before and it still isn't. It isn't hard to google search and find the answer to when they changed the way people being caught at the border were counted. If anything, Obama attracted more illegals and the border patrol still caught as many as they could.

Here, I did it for you. This is one of many stories and probably a more left leaning source.

Speaking of skiing, one of my dads best friends owned a Marina on the Columbia near the airport and he was an awesome water skier. He skied the Columbia up and down for a world record of 1000 miles non stop. This was in August of 1958 and I have a picture with the news clippings that the skier gave my dad on the 50th anniversary as my dad was one of the boat drivers. I once skied about 3 hours straight one time and that basically laid me out for a day.

As for border security, it can be improved but I don;t buy all the hyperbole Trump claims and I definitely don;t agree with a $20+ billion dollar wall. The problem is, Trump doesn't use intelligence when he makes many of his decisions. He is bad for the country.

I don’t have a problem securing the borders and enforcing the laws we ALREADY have in place. I think everyone should be here legally. If I go to Spain and just want to hang out for a year or whatever guess what, they’re gonna want me to file the paperwork, get a work or school visa or whatever it’s called, and so on.

And i think Trump is a gigantic waste of space and dunce who is a complete bitch.

But on this, I don’t think he is being unreasonable for the most part. I think saying from Day One that Mexico would pay for a wall 1) shows what an idiot he is OR 2) what a liar he is and 3) shows how gullible his followers are.

In regards to Mexico paying for the wall, it was never intended to be in a literal sense. Like we're going to build a wall then send Mexico a giant cartoonish invoice that says PLEASE PAY THIS AMOUNT. That is just another obnoxious caracature that was essentially made up, then applied to anyone who agrees with Trump's stance on border security. When the original comment was made, Trump basically said the cost of the wall would be offset by the amount Mexico loses when we change our trade agreements with them. Now whether that is true or not is perfectly debatable, but the out of context interpretations of the original comment seem to be nothing more than redundant talking points.
