and despite all that, it took a bad call to secure the Rockets victory.

If you are looking for a better call to get a win you haven't won anything at all.
    Blaming refs seems weak.

I'm not looking for anything as I was just making an observation. If you disagree that the call was incorrect, that's fine as that was never my point. That game was an anybody's type game and that Houston didn't have control the whole game. I bet the players from Houston would admit as much.

Interesting observation, but Dame wasn't on Harden most of that game. Stotts had ET on him most of the time. Sure, there were some switches where Dame ended up on Harden, but Dame's defense was hardly the reason that Harden had a huge game. Harden and CP3 both were on fire that night. Dame and CJ were cold from the perimeter. Some of that was the Rockets' defense, but they both missed a lot of open looks that they normally hit.

There is some cause & effect going on there.

Houston was intentionally forcing a switch so that a weaker (or smaller) defender was guarding Harden. A small thing like that can have huge impacts as it makes it easier for the offensive guy to score & 'catch fire'.

Teams do that every night. Some Blazers fans seem to want to make it about Dame's defense, as if Harden doesn't have huge games all the time, no matter who's guarding him.

Honestly it's way out of the focus of the main conversation. The original was about the Blazers being better than the Rockets. That ain't the case this year. Can they beat them? I'm sure at any time on any given night the Blazers can get a win against that team. Unfortunately in a series i would give the edge to Houston this year. But lets keep some positive mention and hope alive. The Blazer vs Houston series that i feel will eventually happen will be very entertaining indeed.

I think if he isn't 100%, it isn't worth coming back. He re-injures it, it could carry over into the playoffs.

I was only responding to your comment that Houston had control pretty much the whole game. They had much more control last night and was still a whisker away from losing. As for way out of focus of the main conversation, that's pretty much the case of any thread and throughout this one as well.

Is it me, or did it look like he was limping a bit on the sidelines last night?

    No i saw it to.
He was definitely favoring that leg. Just no reason at this point to play Lillard IMO

Agree. Not worth getting the 3 seed just to lose in the playoffs because Dame is gimpy. Then it just gives the national media more reason to either ignore us or shit on us.

The science these days is saying that ankle injuries actually need to be played through after a short rest, rather than resting for long periods of time. There's pain, but no heightened risk for re-injury. I bet he gets a minutes restriction (24 minutes?), but plays the last three games.

Talk about selective use of the research. What's a long period of time, a couple days, a couple weeks, or a couple months?

The risk of re-injury is very high if the tendons are still stretched and damaged. Once things have stabilized, then it's just a matter of working through the soreness and tightness.

Come on, dude, no need to bust my balls about it. It's literally the truth, and we both know it's relative to the injury.

Thank you Doctor Science. I agree, because you're just repeating what I said. :ghoti:

This is why I trust the team doctors if they clear him, rather than insist on shutting him down for the season anyway.
