It appears that Simmons will win this award. But why not Mitchell? He averages four more points. Simmons averages four more rebounds and assists. They both have a chance at 3 seed coming into tonight. Mitchell is in a tougher conference. I've watched them both play and they are both spectacular. Everyone says Simmons but to me, it should be a tie. I think BonesJones picks Mitchell. What do you guys think?

Mitchell deserves a lot of credit. No one had Utah in contention this year due to the loss of Gordon Hayward. He filled in and has lead the team to do some great things. Impressive for a rookie. Simmons has a better cast in my opinion.

Both are amazing rookies. Mitchell far exceeded expectations and Simmons is what everyone thought he would be when he was the consensus No. 1 pick. If I had a vote, it would got to Simmons. In spite of not being a shooter, he has a higher TS% than Mitchell, and does everything else better.

Really, they are both exactly what their teams needed them to be. It really is special to see two rookies step up like this and help carry their teams to (potential) top 3 seeds in both conferences.

It really is the best ROY race since Amare/Yao and Mitchell and Simmons have been playing better than those two guys did as rookies. I'm just excited that we have two more stars. Both should make All Star team next year. Simmons will probably start.
