Does winning the only division that had every team over .500 and had 4 playoff births mean it was the toughest division?

    And discuss.

Possibly....although also one of only two divisions that didn't have a 50 game winner.

Yes. The NW was a bloodbath of a division.

The Pacific is a cake walk, and the Southwest is tough but they have a couple bottom feeders (that we lost to but oh well).

Well, each of the divisions that had 50 win teams, had teams that sucked big time. Tho you could argue the division with THREE 50 game winners was also impressive.

Most balanced division since the league expanded to 30 teams in 2004. Only 3 games separating the division winner from the last place team. Previous closest for any division (since the league reorganized into six divisions) was 11 games between 1st and last place.

There were no bad teams or any easy wins.

Every other division had at least two teams worst than our last place team. The SW had 4.

The Southwest Division champs (MIA) had a worse record than our last place team.

Considering that only 16 of the 82 games (~20%) are against division rivals, I don't think it has much bearing.

But those three 50-win teams also got to beat up on NYK (29 wins) and BRK (28 wins).

Yes, NW division was easily the toughest division. The Pacific only has one rep and the Southwest has two of the worst teams in the west. Weakest team in our division missed the playoffs by losing the last game of the season in overtime. No contest.

The NW division is the toughest in the NBA. No, the NW division doesn't sport a 50 win team. (Damn near though with eveey team being with in 4 or less games of 50) The NW division doesn't have a 60+ win team to its name. But, it has the most balanced group of teams in the NBA. All are over .500 in win percentage. Four almost all five made the playoffs.

The NW division is easily the toughest division in the West. The Pacific division is terrible. GSW had it easy and thry are the sole playoff team among that group. The Southwest division has the Texas duo and NOP but really its not as competitive as it used to be. Dallas has gone to crap.

In the East the only division that rivals the NW is the Atlantic division. It holds three of the top 4 teams in the East.

How good is the NW Division?

The LAST place team in the NW Division would have been the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference.
