You guys, I'm so fucking excited. Tomorrow is my favorite day of the year. Even more than Christmas and I love Christmas. Nothing beats the first day/weekend of the playoffs. GO BLAZERS, WOLVES, SPURS, and WIZARDS!!!!

What? Where's Lauren Holtkamp's name? This is sexism I tell you...

I think you have to have 7 years experience to ref in the playoffs and 14 years to be eligible to call the NBA finals. At least that's the way it used to be. Holtcamp only has 4 years experience. Plus, the post season refs are chosen based on a combination grades from the league office, accuracy and team ratings. Not sure how Scott Foster got in again.

It will be weird not seeing Monty McCutchen calling the finals this year. He's worked the last 9 finals.

Yeah, Monty has a management position now. I saw him ref a Knicks/Jazz game earlier this year and he looked hot in person.

He has been one of the best NBA refs for the past two decades. I understand why the league promoted him to be the head of referee training and development. It was certainly deserved, but they lost one of their best game officials in the process.

He seemed to have a really good attitude as a ref before the game started. Talking and laughing with everyone, wanting it to be a good game. I sat really close. That is why I noticed all of this.

He always seemed to have a very good rapport with the players and coaches. Very approachable and willing to listen. Much less adversarial and defensive than many of the other refs.

Yep. Best ref in my book. Always felt good when he was on a game.

Cant really say that for any other ref.

Some thoughts:

It’s cool to see the racial makeup of the refs shifting to reflect the makeup of the players; I remember when there were like three black officials.

Ed Molloy can suck it.

Kenny Mauer looks like Skeletor.

Blazers will get Ed Molloy, Scott Foster, and Ron Garretson when it’s time to put us to bed in the WCF.

How fucked up is it that GSW/SAS play before an EC match-up? Not that I mind! Just pretty messed up.

Looks like Russ doesn't like playing against Gobert......

He still averaged 23/10/11/2......... but looks like he won't have anything to do with Robert.

They want champs and Cavs in afternoon ABC games. We got to be ABC game 1 last year because of this. We haven't been on ABC since.
