So, a week ago just for fun I looked up my house on Zillow and the Zestimate was just over 500 thousand dollars. Saw last night that Zillow is buying homes in Vegas and Phoenix and checked Zillow today and 497 thousand and change....hmmmmmmm https://www.google.com/amp/s/techcr...w-surprises-investors-by-buying-up-homes/amp/
Total theft-by-deception on homeowners, most likely conceived a few years ago by Warren Buffett personally. Zillow has been throwing out their their silly and highly inaccurate "Zestimates" for awhile now to train the public into accepting them as instant appraisals and now wants to steal homes from ignorant sellers based on the false values claimed in their Zestimates. It's an obvious con game and likely violates many states' Real Estate laws, but that's how Buffett became a billionaire in the first place. Ever since he went full bore with Berkeshire Hathaway, Realtors have been waiting to see what scam he was cooking up and now we know. It appears he wishes to become America's landlord through theft. He is a stain on humanity.
Right! I'd sell my place for 500 today. I'm thinking I should submit my address for their "offers" and then sue when it doesn't come close to their Zestimate. Of course there's all kinds of legal mumbo jumbo they'll point to.
So those stories about Clinton being near death were true. I knew it! I'm guessing she was near death because she was crushed by a house, like the wicked witch she is? barfo
It says they'll be using Berkshire and Coldwell. As real estate agents, since that's what those companies offer. Do you not understand how the real estate business works? Seems like you'd be happy they aren't cutting realtors out of the process. barfo
I did. Not sure how the following equates to Warren Buffet personally cooking up deceptive theft schemes using Zillow.com as a conduit?
This might be a concern if lenders didn't actually require a real appraisal before a purchase is finalized instead of a zestimate. If you are buying with cash and you use zillow estimates instead of a licensed appraisal service then you deserve what you get. Also their "highly inaccurate" zestimates are just their algorithms trying to determine every house out there based on generic market factors, to get an accurate estimate you need someone who will look at your specific situation. But your a realtor so you know this......... right?
I suspect that real estate deals in LaPine must look something like this: Patty Sue hereby gives Jim Bob 2 head of cattle, free of ringworms, for his dearly departed mother's shack in the hollow down by Bear Creek. ___X___ ____X___ Jim Bob Patty Sue barfo
Who's in charge of the algorithm? Mine went down another thousand bucks since I started the thread. In a matket that had been up up up I know the Zestimate has always been bullshit BUT buyers are influenced by it. If a huge player starts rigging their own system then what? And who has any oversight over them?
Ha, they're on to me. Just went to take a screenshot and it went back up 2000. This stuff needs regulated is all I'm saying.
dont know and dont really care. I just use them as a tool to get an idea of what to expect. When I refied my house my lender told me that zillow is about a year behind. We had to get our property appraised for our refi, it came in at $50k more than zillow, one year later zillow was where our appraisal was. So it seemed to work out.
Whoa! I suppose this is intended to get a giggle from your urbanite city boys, but is does smack of condescending to the aborigine.
Well, you could do a city one as a reply. William and Patrick (not that there is anything wrong with that) sublease this 400 square foot apt over Starbucks (the one on the NW corner of the block, not SE) to crankyG and her cats (haha) for a sum of 4,500 dollars per month. You get the idea....
Just refinanced the house 18 months ago and just now looked at Zillow......their estimate is about $90,000 low then BEFORE we remodeled. So it is WAY off on us.
