Over the weekend I actually watched two games, on Saturday the Penguins game and on Sunday the Red Wings game. I actually enjoyed watching it, it's such a gracefull game, it's aggressive, it goes by quickly without 24/7 referee interference. I like watching Sidney Crosby a lot. I feel like a bastard for hating on hockey all these years.
you should..hockey's a very soldi sport..Sidney Crosby is a very good player..nice tastehe is kind of like the Lebron of the NHL (new, fresh young superstar prodigy compared to great players)many think he could be near Gretzky levelhockey is very good especially around playoff time...it's such an exciting atmosphere
I used to love hockey so much, it's an awesome sport, but I really haven't been able to get back into it since the lockout. it also doesn't help that my team is pathetic...
I relaized this last playoffs. I never had anythin against hockey, just never liked it. but like u said it's fast paced, the refs dont constantly blow the whistles, and the commercials are limited.
Im actually a hockey fanatic, I play and I watch every game possible lol. The playoffs are so internse because teams become much more aggresive in every aspect. And BCB if you think watching on TV is nice, go to a game its awesome.
I got to UMaine where college hockey is unbelievable, I really prefer college hockey over the NHL. The rivalries are great and there is never a boring game in college hockey. I love the NHL playoffs but the NHL is pathetic with their coverage. That lockout killed the league, I mean they're games are on Vs. for christ sake. I did catch the Flames Red Wings game yesterday on NBC which was a good game. The NHL just needs a whole new marketing department, they have all these young great players and aside from Crosby you really don't hear all about themAlso like playoff said, the Bruins are a joke. They trade away 3 all-stars and get jack sh*t in return. They piss the hell out of me.Also BCB how can you hate on hockey living in Wisconsin, the Badgers have great teams every year.

I love actually watching a sport where the game isn't interrupted ever minute. When I was watching over the weekend I was amazed because it was almost 15 minutes without interruption. In the NBA they stop every 30 seconds for a foul or a commercial.... Bottom line, I have a new appreciation for hockey, seeing those guys glide around and smack the sh*t out of eachother is a lot of fun.
Its so excited, and so underrated, but I actually watched a complete game this year.. I liked it alot
I don't like watching hockey, but NHL '07 is pretty sweet. It's so fun nailing people, that's like all I do. Me and my friend almost lost to my other friend when he was Kazakhstan and we were Canada
Huzzah! Welcome to the Hockey side BCB.Now grab a Molson, pull up a chair, and watch some great hockey. That's what it's all aboot. (As Barry Melrose would say)
Sure. There are four main lines (Shifts). There is also a powerplay line and a shorthanded line. Lines are made of two wings, and a center. The defensemen usually rotate by themselves. You can either change on the fly, (While game is going), or during a stoppage.Kinda get it so far? I gotta go to baseball practice, so I'll explain a little more later if you need..
to add on to what captain said, usually your powerplay will contain 4 forwards and 1 defenseman unlike normal units and mostly they will put one bigass dude to stand right in front of the net to screen the goalie. O and lots of teams only run through 3 lines but the Rangers fro example run 4 lines.
I don't like hockey. I've been to a couple Lowell Lockmonster games and I have watched a game or two on TV in my life, I just don't like it. I like the intensity, and hockey players are the toughest motherfuckers of any sport, but I'm just not interested in the game. I also find it odd that you get an assist if you pass the puck to a guy, then he passes it like 36 more times, then like 4 people end up with assists off one play. I know I exaggerated, but it's still a little weird to me. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (WELCOMEtotheJUNGLE @ Apr 16 2007, 04:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Also like playoff said, the Bruins are a joke. Also continuing to add onto what Captain said, a team cannot change after an icing. In laymen's terms, if your team dumps the puck in w/o crossing, they can't change lines.
