I've been to a couple Lowell Lockmonster games and I have watched a game or two on TV in my life, I just don't like it. I like the intensity, and hockey players are the toughest motherfuckers of any sport, but I'm just not interested in the game.I also find it odd that you get an assist if you pass the puck to a guy, then he passes it like 36 more times, then like 4 people end up with assists off one play. [IMG] I know I exaggerated, but it's still a little weird to me.It's official, sh*tty management is contagious in Boston.</div>There's been sh*tty management in Boston Bruins since Mike O'Connell took over..that jackassThey had a chance at Jaromir Jagr a few years back and they didn't do anything..ugh just like every other big name player that they didn't go after because they're cheap son of a bitchesThornton gone..Sampsonov gone..Bergoran and Chara are our hopesI haven't been to a Bruins game in a MINUTE..I just can't believe the way they ruined this pretty storied franchise in a state where people actually LIKE hockeyWe've been more then mediocre for a few seasons now..Also CB there's only 2 people credited with an assist..because in hockey it's different than basketball..it normally takes 2-4 passes to setup a goal because everything is so clogged around the net

I sometimes try to watch Red Wings when they're on, I'll probably watch for like 10 minutes or smething so I don't watch a lot but it seems to me every day somoene getting taken off the ice on a stretcher because of a dirty hit or fight. One of these days someone going to get seriously hurt, they need to clean this game up a little bit.

There is a difference between hockey, and playoff hockey. Playoff hockey is wonderful. I go to a few games every year, watch a few other ones. And try to watch as many playoff games as I can. It's still my 4th favorite sport..but I still enjoy it. Going to a playoff game in the 2nd round too.

NHL Playoffs are simply the best. They just have no hype. If the League kept the old pts system the Sharks would be in first. And now that there are no shootouts in the Playoffs...watch out. The Ducks have the best defense. The Canucks and Devils have the best goaltenders. The Senators and Wings are well rounded. The Sabres have the best offense.

O and lots of teams only run through 3 lines but the Rangers fro example run 4 lines.</div>I dont know why the Rangers are running 4 forwards and 1 defenseman on their powerplay unit. Pretty much every other team keeps 3 forwards and 2 defensemen on thiers. Its the right way to do it. Also, most teams do have 4 lines. As a matter of fact, Im pretty sure all of them do. And to add a little more to what captain said, the forwards have their lines and the defensemen have theirs. Forwards are paired in groups of 3 and defensemen in groups of 2. Very rarely will both forwards AND defensemen switch at the same time. The ultimate goal is to match your lines up with the other teams lines. You want your best defensive players to be on the ice with the other teams best forwards and your teams best forwards to be on the ice with their worst defensemen.

Secondly, alll teams do have four lines, I said they only normally run 3 lines which is a big difference. And thirdly, home ice plays a major role in matchups due to the fact the away team must send out their players first.

After further checking with a friend in the Red Wings organization, some teams actually do play 4 forwards and 1 defenseman on the power play. However, their power play scoring percentage is not much higher at all and the opposing teams short handed goals against are up when compared to the teams that play it right (3 forwards, 2 defensemen).
