disagree with this take across the board...Pops had Lamarcus in the doghouse for a year....now Kawhi is divorced from the team....people saying what would Pops do at this point I can't understand....Stotts is running a stable team...Pops seems to be mired in dysfunction

Why does Pop's no good horrible very bad season this year negate his obviously amazing track record for game management, roster management, and momentum management?

coaching burn out would be my guess....happened to George Karl and Rick Adelman at the end of their careers as well....Stotts is just not temperamental....I think Stan Van Gundy is burning out as well....changing of the guard in coaching

Pops is in the playoffs again but that was not my point.....his team sans Duncan has not been the gold standard of stability....

Popovich has never been a particularly good coach in my opinion. I've never liked him since he fired Bob Hill in 97 and finished his tank job to get Tim Duncan. He's never won anything without Duncan.

He won 61 last year. And 47 this year with his top 5 player MIA. That's pretty damn good.

Popovich? He will never be fired. He will retire this year or the next. Many would probably say that the Spurs were favored in the GSW series, but that is probably a conclusion that was jumped too. Spurs are not that good without Kawhi, If they had him, they would probably be favored. Without him and without Curry the odds are probably a bit closer, but GSW was # 2 for a reason, and yeah they limped into the playoffs, but now that it is postseason, they are back in form. GSW will beat SAS, and should the Blazers win, it will not be an easy task to defeat them. Too, Curry is hedging for a 2nd round come back. So GSW will be a near full strength.

Over-rated. He got swept by the Dubs as well.

We can't fire Terry unless we have a better coach lined up which I highly doubt lol

    How many coaches can take:

    Dame / Napier
    CJ / Pat
    Harkless / Turner
    Aminu / Collins
    Nurk / Davis

To 49 wins? Yeah, we have one phenomenal player, two 3rd tier stars, and a couple upper level role players... that’s not enough in the western conference usually.

More important than watching us take for half a decade and still have it be a crap shoot to nail a generational talent?
To consistently be a better than average team?
To be watching my team play instead of wishing it was my team playing?

    Hell yeah its important.

Maybe Dame is just that good? I always thought that Roy carried the fuck out of McMillan. Made him look smarter than he was.

Dame went super saiyan this season, good enough to maybe be first team All-NBA, but without Dame this team is super average.
