He might start but that's only for maybe a year while Rondo gains experience. He only has one year left on his deal anyway, so you could probably get him for West alone or West and #32.

Those three spots are the difference between Brandon Wright and Joakhim Noah. HUGE difference.</div>
We also get the #22 pick in this draft, which is nice. Brevin Knight is exactly what we need. I'd consider that, no doubt. I didn't even think of this one on my own, I stole it from CelticsBlog.

#22 pick may be roll the dice territory but Josh Howard, who if Nowitzki wasn't on the team would be their franchise player was taken 29th for Dallas in 2003..

yes of course there are good picks to be had.MY point was the gamble it is.the 8 picks before Josh Howard28 Leandrinho Barbosa27 Kendrick Perkins26 Nudubi Ebi25 Carlos Delfino24 Brian Cook 23 Travis Outlaw22 Zoran Planinic21 Boris Diaw (screw it can't pass this one up)20 Dahntay Jones Barbosa and Diaw are the only 2 other surefire picks in here. so outta 10 picks 3 are really good, Perkins Delfino are decent. the rest are question marks or worse. It's a crapshoot and you have a better pecent chance of screwing it up than getting it right. that's what my point was.

I'd rather keep Pierce - Allen and Gomes over Vlad - Kwame + Evans. Just thoes drafts picks are monsters.

And why would Boston want two players who play the same posistion as Pierce (sg/sf)?

IE 2 versatile and very good wing players. that wouldn't be a bad thing would it?Remember LIKE not AS GOOD AS....

Why Atlanta would give up their best player to move up five spots and take on an unproven swingman I'm not sure.

Here's a fairly crazy trade I worked out in the ESPN Trade Machine. (Salaries are rounded)Celtics Get:Paul Gasol - $12,400,000Andrei Kirilenko - $12,400,000Grizzlies Get:#5 Overall PickTheo Ratliff - $11,700,000Gerald Green - $1,400,000Gordon Giricek - $4,000,000Sebastian Telfair - $1,800,000Jazz Get:Wally Sczerbiak - $11,800,000Mike Miller - $7,600,000The Celts get an all-star in Gasol and a borderline all-star in Kirilenko (I know he's a risk). Memphis gets Green and the #5 pick as well as Telfair and Giricek who could contribute...and an inordinate amount of cap room. They could sign literally any Free Agent in the league after next season with the amount of money they'd have available. The Jazz get a good player in Miller and cap relief two years earlier from Wally's deal than they would waiting for Kirilenko. Not saying it's the best deal in the world. Just an idea.

From what I understand the Jazz want to get rid of AK-47 any way they can but don't think anyone will take on his contract.

I think it's pretty unrealistic... us getting Gasol and Kirilenko in the same deal, with Utah getting two players at the same position, one of whom has a big contract and is injury prone.

I'm not sure if Charlotte would take back Scal's contract, but it's not that unreasonable, and I would do this deal.

Although Scal's contract is 2 years longer it's nearly half the price of Knights. Scal would add some veteran leadership and fundamentals to a young Bobcat team while they would also get a higher pick given them a better rookie. I think if this was offered the Bobcats would atleast stronger consider it.

Miller serves as a decent replacement while Wally is just there for depth and because his deal gets done two years earlier. This is basically just a MUCH more balanced Lafrentz-Ratliff type deal from Utah's perspective.

I think Utah MIGHT do a Theo and either Green or West for AK-47.AK is a PF and him playing SF just doesn't work.he's a great intangibles guy and if you move Al to the C posistion Andrei can play PF and not take a lot of shots away from Paul and Al.He's a good passer, blocks shots and gets steals.Utah gets salary relief and either a gamble in Green or a solid pg/sg back up in West.thoughts?
