Yes... this team as constructed has no hope and has maximized it’s potential... with Dame and CJ going to be 28 and 27 years old, they are what they are... no drastic change will happen to catapault them into contender status... you can only make excuses for so long.... not saying everything you listed above is a solution, just saying THAT DOING NOTHING IS DEFINITELY NOT A SOLUTION... SOMEONE HAS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR UTTER FAILURE IN PLAYOFFS... personally I would trade CJ... but firing Stotts or firing Neil is ok with me too... I just want some accountability... I’m not ok with no one taking any blame and going into next season with same roster with a couple minor additions, same coach AND same GM And yes, I would rather watch a lotto team with hope of future greatness, than Dame/CJ ISO ball with no hope
Didn't Olshey say he will be looking at changes that can be made to improve the team? I also assume you never found that post where you claimed I said the 13 game winning streak will happen again. I would appreciate you apologizing for making a false claim.
He is a con artist... no change can happen without making CJ available... we have no other tradable assets that will bring back a difference maker besides Collins... and it would be extremely foolish to give up on Collins to go all in on Dame/CJ
and once again, you are projecting your opinion as a fact. So you wouldn't include Collins in a deal if it would bring back a difference maker? You don't think Harkless or Aminu have any value? I get the impression that you think your opinion is the only one that counts.
Now you are making assumptions that every GM will draft like Sacramento... oh and Philly called, they want to know how you like them now... trust the process
You think Harkless and Aminu are gonna bring back a player in trade that is gonna change the dynamic of this team and take it to next level?! Hahahahahaha
It’s not my opinion bro, it’s the sad reality that Neil put us into... we will be above the luxury tax line... no free agents coming to save the day... trading player other than Dame/CJ will not change dynamic of this team... we will still have 2 undersized ISO players over dribbling and taking half the shots... no star player is coming in for Harkless and Aminu... not a roster worth going into luxury tax far... Trading CJ is only way to balance roster and play more of a team game
There you go again taking things out of context. I never said individually, but a combination deal of assets could. What do you think a future first and Aminu could bring back? Toss in Collins and what could that bring back?Nurkic was acquired for Plumlee and we got a first round pick to boot and he was a difference maker
Cup, What is not accepting reality is within that 13 win streak, most teams were without there first and or second best player. I will break it down for you this weekend game by game on that winning streak. If you want to flip the switch on our losing streak, then you would need ot assess during our games we lost more than one in a row, what players on our roster were out. Were they the top players on our roster? Dame? CJ? Nurk? Again, I will break it all down for you, but you thinking that a win streak is black and white and there cant be asterisks or stipulations, is not being realistic. AT all.
Who said they want Paul Allen to sell the team? I haven't sen it and I read most posts. If I missed one post from one member that they want Paul to sell the team then you are really grasping for straws man.
maris61 just mentioned it today and I was just summarizing some of the different things that posters have said they want and my main point of that is that several posters want different things and they all think they are right. I wasn't grasping for anything.
You are tossing yourself in that mix too though right? About thinking you are right about the team not needing improvements to anything other than internal development? You are basing your OPINION of the team off of the season and how it went. So is everyone else. You are no more right than they are wrong.
Unless you are going to break down every team and every win a team has when others were missing key players it really won't mean much to me. Before the streak the break we were 31-26. Not near as doom and gloom as some seem to think it was. That would project out to 45 wins. Sure, not good enough for the playoffs, but within playoff contention and an improvement over last year and one game below my 46-48 prediction. All the teams in the east played Boston 4 times with one of their best players going down first game of the season. Should the east have an asterisk in front of it? I see posters all the time never giving the Blazers the benefit when they lose to teams and have had injured players so why is it okay to discount wins when we have the advantage. It really isn't that important to me to have the winning streak broken down and will take considerable time so if you are doing it for me, it really won't be necessary. It is what it is as you can never predict a result based on a player or two missing as teams often step up in adversity. You still step on the floor and play the game and the results are what they are.
And you would be wrong. I have NEVER said the team should not make changes. I'm just not one to pretend I know what should be done. I'm simply a fan, and like Davis said, I'm not the GM. Call that a cop out if you want but that's just how I feel.
