I see that the damned Pats snagged Sony Michel...oh well, Nick Chubb is still out there...and the Raiders have a TON of draft picks this year.
^^^^Raiders are making smart moves in collecting extra draft picks.........something the Giants still do not know how to do! That’s why I feel it will take the Giants longer to get to championship level again. Raiders will get there sooner.
Have to laugh. Some Giant analysts already are putting Barkley into the Hall of Fame!!!!!! These guys have no clue. Anything can happen to put a damper on such dreams.
Me too cage. Now get ready to welcome guard Will Hernandez with pick number 34. The first Hog Molly in the fold.
Yeah, you just never know for sure how well a college player transitions to the NFL, but I don't think I have ever seen a RB with a body like Barkley's... He cleans 405 lbs and runs a 4.3 40 ?... he's an absolute monster.
^^^^ I was kind of taken off guard by t/Bears pick... from USA Today: With Carr set at quarterback, the Raiders can try to fill other needs in a draft bursting with high-level quarterback talent. They had been expected to tab a defensive player with their top pick after finishing last season ranked 23rd in the league in total yards yielded and 20th in points allowed. The club was thought to be interested in Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith, who looked like an ideal replacement for middle linebacker NaVorro Bowman, now a free agent. But the Chicago Bears took Smith at No. 8, opening the door for Oakland to increase its draft pick inventory by dropping five spots. The club came in with 11 selections, four of them in the sixth round
Is it just me? Pro football has become the 21st century new melodramatic soap opera. The game itself has become secondary compared to characters playing or not playing the game! Only espn can run a draft show for 6 hours with all their drama-rama......when all I am interested in is the draft itself. Such boring bullshit.
we had the draft out here on 4 different channels, Fox, NFL, ESPN, and ESPN-1. Kind of pissed me off at 8pm, the nerve to pre-empt "Gotham"...
Just to add.......who the fuck is interested in the size of a guy’s biceps and neck size!!! My god.....can they be anymore lost?
I am, but that's about the only size of a man's anything I want to know about. I idolized Jimmy Brown when I was a kid, and literally ran into him roller skating on Venice Beach in the early 70s. Muscle Beach is part of Venice Beach by the way. I was skating not watching where I was going and head-butted Jimmy in the chest, which knocked me on my ass and Brown did not even Flinch or move, other than to lend a hand to help me up. Then there's Bo the redefined ultimate athlete...
Mel, who the fuck do you know in the Giants’ draft room? Great pick! Long overdue. Giants need LBs and of more importance, depth talent.
Is it just me or did Nick Chubb not look to happy to be on his way to Cleveland??? tho' his pocket book's happy-
What’s with all this mouth trashing?Do you think some teams have an identity crisis? Sure sounds to me.
I do not believe the Raiders are going to even miss Crabtree now... I was scratching my own head this morning. Looks like Gruden's got a plan, master strategist at work. The NFL sucked last year and I watched little of it, opting for NCAA FB... With Chucky in the driver's seat my interest is peaked, again...
Gruden's clearly back, working on both Lines. Day 2- 2 OT's Miller & B. Parker- NC A&T PJ Hall DT-(Sam Houston St) DE-(LSU) Arden Key. Both Parker and Hall played in small school Div-1 schools. Parker Mid-Eastern Althletic Conf Offensive Lineman of the Year. Gruden liked what he saw in Parker in the Sr Bowl. PJ Hall SHSt, a non-invitee to the Combine, Southland Conf. Hall set the FCS record with 86.5 career tackles for loss, besting the former record of 80 held by fellow Raider James Cowser. https://www.mercurynews.com/2018/04/27/raiders-draft-sam-houston-state-dt-p-j-hall-in-second-round/ Arden Key DE-LSU, interesting lack of info/news on his "off the field issues", other than coming in overweight after a good 016 season. Then taking a leave for personal reasons, supposedly marijuana program he volunteered for? Played in 8 games in 017 due to prior off season shoulder and knee surgeries. Key had 12 sacks in 016 at LSU. Imo the toughest Conference in NCAA over the last 2 decades, imho.... these guys according to Gruden are Diamonds in the Rough. if there's but one guy in t/NFL whose judgement/analysis I believe in, its Jon Gruden...
I think the Ravens did well by addressing their needs for a catching tight end (Hurst) and a future QB. The Lamar Jackson (Louisville,2016 Heisman winner) pick is AOK with me. He reminds me of Russell Wilson. I hope the coaches give him plays to exploit teams with his running speed and field vision, at least in the red zone. On the other hand, we had been known as "throw away" the QB before the final team is set. We had sucked in red zone scoring except for 2012 and 2014. Thank God for Tucker. FA:I can't believe we picked up RG3 for a backup QB.
