If you find an insult there Sly, you need to let go the moderator job. You are looking for trouble where none should be found.
if you don't see his response to my post as offensive and insulting....you should be ashamed...I see you liked his post
just did....my wife is an immigrant....he called me the root of the problem..you agree with him or you don't....that's shameful..I tried to weigh in on your thread but insulting first generation americans is a horrible thing to do...what an ugly post he made....you seemed to find some joy in it...I'm out of this thread..
I don't care if people insult me. I've demonstrated that too many times to count. I will however always take offense to someone insulting my family. And it's perfectly fine that I say that. My father came here legally, served this country and became a citizen while in the military. To have Maris say that he is a lazy leech is highly offensive. I can not make that anymore clear. What Maris said was offensive.
Yes, I think it is Cool. And that brings us to the point of the thread. When does immigration become a thorn rather than a rose? My father immigrated when we were still under populated, probably around 110 million American. Your father immigrated when we were still under populated, what 160 million Americans? We are nearing if not surpassing the ideal population for the country we have. What is that point? That is the salient question. And Maris is Spot on! As we fail to identify the reality, we enabling other countries to ignore their own actions or lack of action. Discussions of such should not be taken as insults.
One hundred years from now, someone whose father arrived in 2018 will be saying 'my father immigrated when we were still underpopulated, only 350M. But now we have too many people, and so I don't want any damn Norwegians coming in over the border'. barfo
Sorry, my asian accent slips through sometimes when I'm posting. I meant to say your Dad was racy and rich .
You continually call me a racist. I see no American Husky in your lineage so you're not what we would (inaccurately) call an indigenous American. But you are a Native American, since you were born here. Probably a mutt, like most of us.
In my industry a huge percentage of the best employees are Mexicans. It’s partially the field I’m in and partially the area I’m in but the industry would fall apart without them. I work in a Wine Lab and about 1/4 of the other employees are Hispanic. In Wine production that probably goes up to 1/2 and in the Vineyards it’s got to be 9/10. And they are wonderful people to befriend. How much is enough? I’ll let you know when we get close. I’m not for open boarders but I would love to see some more partnership with Mexico so they could come much more easily,
Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming...pretty much empty. Let peeps in but send them there till they naturalize. i mean shit, New Mexico is on the fucking border and it is super sparsely populated. how much is too much? not sure, but we aint even close.
But immigrants aren't going to those sparsely populated places. That's the whole problem. People are going where there's jobs, and that's the major city centers.
