I tried to explain this the other day. An example I have is Paul George. PG has the same agent as Ed Davis, Meyers Leonard, Allen Crabbe, Chris Wilcox, among others so I would assume that Olshey has a decent relationship with that agent. It is entirely possible that Olshey contacted him and he said there was no chance George would stay past the 1 season left on his contract. Knowing this information Olshey could either still try to acquire him by offering even more and hope he changes his mind or give Indy a reasonable offer but not an extreme offer (CJ) like he might of if George was open to staying longer. There are so many behind the scenes things that we don't know about.

On a side note that agent is the agent for Glenn Robinson who is a free agent. I could see the Blazers taking a flyer on him. On the negative side he's also the agent for Grayson Allen. Please don't draft him Olshey.

Hence validifying most peoples thoughts around here. It isn't going to be easy to improve the roster if it can be done at all without trading CJ, our most valuable asset.

You know it's bad around here if @Orion Bailey is down on the team.

Do you feel better now? I never suggested trading both Aminu and Harkless. It was one or the other plus our pick and possibly a future. Slow down and read the posts. If you don;t like my answers then maybe don;t ask me questions as I answered them all to the best of my ability. From many of your posts lately it's very apparent that you take issue with me, not the other way around like you have presented it. Also, you claim to be trying to have a discussion where instead it feels like an interrogation. Maybe a less aggressive approach would work better for you. :D

PS- it comes across from my side that you are the one trying to argue.

Wow, you are new but on top of it my man!

Im one of the bigger homers here. Some other newbies dont know that and think im on the negative nancy wagon.

When in actuality, mostly, I just like to keep it realistic and within the knowledge of the known. Meaning fantasy and hypothetical i'm not much interested in. More of the tangibles. What do we see with this team? How can it legitimately be improved?

I love this team and wish we didnt have to trade anyone. They are all likable guys. But the reality is our team is missing at minimum one impact pc. Probably 2-3. The reality is we dont have financial flexibility to be mixing things up alot. So to me the reality is having to trade off a couple large contracts to create that flexibility and provide ourselves with more options on how to improve this team.

We have more flexibility if we choose to use it than over half of the teams in the league.

Maybe a less aggressive aproach would be not assuming and not asking if I feel better; assuming i don't feel good. That is the crap that makes it hard to converse with you. I am only one of many here that has had this issue and voiced it.

You have gotten on me from the get go about being snide, and rude or whatever. Yet you insist on bringing that same abrasiveness to almost every post you make. It was even pointed out you were taking things more personal than you should, or than others wouldn't, and yet here you are assuming i'm not feeling good.
I thought with age comes self awareness????

Second, I never SAID you said to trade all of them. I KNOW you said either or. I was upping the anti. Show me what you think we can get for ALL of them.

Lastly. IF I took issue with you, I wouldn't be continuing to try to discuss basketball with you..

Maybe YOU should slow down, stop taking offence, thinking someone twisted your words around and just respond to the question at hand?

So yet again, instead of answering what you think we could net with the players listed, you seem to think i'm trying to twist your words around. I'm not. I just asked a question. It is unfortunate that you do not see that. I even said I was not trying to be argumentative, I was genuinely curious.
It is becoming apparent though that discussing basketball with you will not be very uplifting or an eye opener for me. I thought you would bring something to the table for me to learn from....

Did I not tell you a few days ago that I don't really get into hypotheticals? and now here you are again attacking me because I don't go through hypotheticals for you. You didn't up the ante as you clearly stated "So you think losing two of our best defensive starters and our first for Tobias Harris is an upgrade?" That certainly looks like you are claiming I was willing to trade both Harkless and Aminu plus our pick and now you claim that's not what you were doing. It is really getting harder to have a discussion with you when you continually come at me and put me down for my answers as well as changing the narrative. I will gladly give you opinions on deals that ACTUALLY happen when they happen, but I don't play fantasy basketball in a forum for the most part as as far as I will typically go is voice an opinion if I think an idea is good, bad or maybe not even eligible to be done. Some like to do fantasy trades and I have indulged a few times, but just not my game. and I don't begrudge them for doing so just as you should allow me the freedom as well to not participate if I so choose.

Man. All I needed to do was read the first sentence to know not to read any further.

IF you don't deal in hypothetical, then how can you tell other people they are wrong on their hypothetical? don't you see the direct and obvious double standard?
    -
And you think I am attacking you? LMAO.. you have no clue what an attack is.....

I'm not gonna read any more of your post because it starts out way too delusional for me to be interested in.

    Enjoy your time here.

and I have no problem with that. Lately it seems no matter what I say you take issue with it and continue to push it even after I explain my reasoning. The first sentence was just a repeat of what I told you several days ago. How I participate should be my choice, not yours. You are free to participate in any way you so choose. I haven't told you that you can't. The original post that started all this wasn't even a hypothetical but a statement by gronk that we have no flexibility without trading McCollum and I merely stated that we do have some flexibility. Nothing more and nothing less until you came at me and demanding that I give you names and hypothetical deals. Why are you insisting I participate in the manner you want me to? All of your responses have had words capitalized, LMAO, claiming I have double standards and now delusional. Those aren't inviting ways to have a discussion with someone as it comes across more from someone looking to argue and I have been trying to avoid those. Apparently in your mind I'm the problem and you're just the innocent poster.

Good luck and have a nice day.

Actually, it's quite easy. Look at his history here. Wake him up gently; he woke up yelling at the press conference.

Let me ask you guys this. Do you think Olshey is the man to lead the Blazers to a championship? (I realize we aren't PA so our opinion doesnt mean much).
Ultimately we can talk about what we think are mistakes or good moves, or their flexibility, or whatever but the bottom line is I don't believe Olshey's 5 year plan, and I don't believe in Olshey at this point. I realize it's my opinion and that the only one that matters is PA's. I understand some of you may believe in his plan, and that's fine too.
I have spelled out my reasons (whether people agree or not) as to why I don't think Olshey is the man for the job and the mistakes I believe he has made. I'm just curious as Blazer fans do you feel Olshey will be the GM that brings the Blazers back to the top? Isn't that what all of us (for the most part) want?

Also, I don't know if I believe Stotts is the coach for the job either but that's a different discussion thread.

Just curious if you're defending him because you believe he'll get us there and we just need patience, or if there is some other reason for defending him as staunchly as some of you seem to be?

    You're falling for his bullshit.

Why should any GM get 5 years to accomplish anything? (Especially when each year, he does absolutely nothing.) When and how did fans decide to give him 5 years? Has Paul Allen ever mentioned a 5-year plan?

But I said I don't believe he is the guy.... So... Yes you do have to give a GM time to construct a plan and move on it whether it's 5 years or not I don't know, but your post is really confusing to me...

He doesn't believe it will succeed. I'm saying that the "plan" doesn't even exist.

Even if it does exist, why should Olshey be given 5 (by himself, since Allen has never said this), instead of say 1-2 years. After that length of time (of ignoring every trade deadline), it's obvious what's up. He's a do-nothing GM stalling for extra years of high pay.

So I was right, you do believe a 5-year plan is legitimate. That's half of a successful player's career. In geological time, that's a half-billion years. In dog years, that's about...5 years.
