I think that's about right for our roster. I seriously did not expect us to make the playoffs.

This is like the capitalist myth that everybody could be rich if they tried hard enough.

How can't you? He lets players do whatever they want.. they can isolate us out of a set even if their name is Al-Farouq Aminu... sometimes we don't even ru sets and it's ISO-ball... hit even the sets that he does run, I don't like, as there's little movement towards to rim. Teams can play up and we don't have any set that's designed to exploit that with basket cuts. The only one is Horns, but almost every team runs that set.

I'm a staunch believer that Stotts isn't the problem.

    Neil Olshey is the problem.

Interesting theory. So Stotts will be here till he falls into his grave. Unless...

In the unlikely case that some assistant coach of the future is more perfect than the winged angel Stotts, Olshey will see his potential before the other 29 teams and snap him up.

So lazy thinkers have it made. Blazer fans will never need to call for anyone's replacement. What luck we all have, to have picked the perfect team.

And I'm a staunch believer that both are the problem.

Paul please get rid of Olshey so we can move on from this backcourt.

Exactly. Stotts gave everyone a shot- Napier, Biggie, Zach, even Jake Layman got start a game. I don't think he was conservative at all. Ultimately, he went with the best players for each matchup.

And how will we improve the backcourt? Who do you recommend and how will we get them?

    I just don't understand the FO's strategy.
Give Stotts career 2x three point shooters and expect him to turn them into good shooters.
Literally the scheme against Portland has been the same for 3 years. Let Aminu shoot.
It's why some of us had such a hardon for Melo. He could play the 4, with Nurk behind him and just shoot the ball in P&R.

Basically why in the FO bringing in terrible shooters?
Yes Stotts could get away from shooting threes and attack the basket more. but give me a break. FO needs to get their shit together, that includes PA.

    Please elaborate.

How is it contradictory to blame Terry's offense AND blame him for letting players do what they want? Those aren't mutually exclusive by any means.

Also, how are you calling bullshit on him thinking he could use LA like Dirk? If I cared enough I'd dig up the article - but this was his plan from Day 1.

Yeah, I remember LA scored 40 points in the first two games. Wow - we got TWO GOOD GAMES from LA. Fucking Whoop-Dee-Doo. It still took Dame with a dagger to actually win that series. And may I remind you that Dame broke the play that Terry called in order to throw that dagger. And what exactly did Terry have to do with LA playing out-of-his-freaking-mind in those two games? Did he do something special with his play-calls for LA to actually MAKE his shots for once? Or was LA simply playing the way he normally does, and he just got hot for a little while due to an inept defender being on him?

And 16 teams DID. (Pssst - 16 is bigger than 14.)
Also, I really don't get why you're emphasizing Lonzo Ball.

righteo so he's popular with 2 main players yet has zero tactical coaching strategy beyond isoball (which the 2 main players excel in) and can't call smart substitutions to save his life.

im not sure dame and cj liking him because he has built an offense around their skills is enough justification not to try to do things better. either that or dame or cj need to man up and say it how it really is and that the offense lives or dies on those 2 and they were basically shut down by a better team. which should ask the first question of, what was plan b? an answer of, me n cj are plan a-z isnt gonna fly. we're a 1(2) trick pony atm, once that's solved, we got nothing with any consistency.

game 1 was an anomaly with the supporting cast keeping us in it - that isnt gonna happen with any reliable regularity.

Political crap aside, sports are competitive by nature, why should fans, or the atheletes be "ok" with being in the middle. The idea well you didn't think they were in any good anyways, means absolutely nothing, apparently your idea for them is to just sit there and be happy there are worse teams out there. Cause apparently trying harder is against your philosophy in life.
