No, I think Barfo is right that more people know of Pepe as a racist thing now. That is what we're talking about right? That doesn't mean it is right or fair.
Caring enough to say it isn't racist and caring enough to mount a campaign to stop it from being racist are two different things by the way. There's millions of things I care about but not enough to do something about it. I
Many people of a certain age. I mean the ADL "officially" put it as a hate symbol in 2016. They got a lot of backlash from that. So yeah, now the swastika and pepe the frog are definitely in the same boat. I mean right? its crazy. I never use pepe anymore but I still find that stupid frog funny when I see a pepe meme. Even that just goes with today and how society is. Everything is watered down.
You're always complaining about the left though, and never about the right. You're not bridging the gap between parties by being a level-headed, unbiased voice, as you've proven bias against the left by constantly complaining about them. You're contributing to the division... That's why you get boxed in.
Because the right isn't all that loud. That's why you see me barely complain about them. They aren't attacking people and calling people racists for little to no reason. They just have some shitty views and some decent ones. Other than that, I don't see them attacking people for cultural appropriation or any of that nonsense
Since the Pepe meme has been tainted we should use pictures of you instead. We could call it "close enough".. until an alt-right group turns THAT into a symbol of racism, and then you'd have the same problem you're talking about.
If you're a centrist then who hates the party system and the division it creates, then its ironic that you feel the need to stick up for one party because of the characteristics of the other. That's buying into the party system and dividing thought. I hope you can see the irony in that.
How am I sticking up for one party? I don't like either and I have made that clear. If conservatives were out there attacking people for petty shit, I would be more so on them. I think that is pretty clear
I heard a radio station say that Kanye said slavery was a choice.. If he said that then he shouldn't be defended by anybody.
Well that's the problem, media takes things and makes it an appealing headline. That wasn't the full context. Go to 17:09 for more context. 3:26 is what he originally said which wasn't directly "slavery was a choice" or even implied that.
but I am not. If I bought into the party system I would be voting and actively trying to promote conservatives or democrats. I am not. I think both parties are whack. You will never find me not talking to somebody because they are democrat or republican unless they start getting crazy. Crazy as in saying "hey man, you are defending racists by defending a meme". Thats crazy. At that point I am out. As you see Donkiez clearly has a different opinion than me but he respectfully engaged in a conversation and our conversation was fine.
I figured. I get what he's trying to say, he did an awful job of saying it. Btw, it was a sports show, so that doesn't apply.
If consistently talk shit about one side, you're being divisive, and if you're focusing on a party and it's tendencies compared to another party, you're buying into the party system more than a vote would do.
That's what I should be saying to you. I'm dead on. The a step back and look at what I'm saying without the want to defend yourself and maybe you'll see it. (I'm not saying a want to defend yourself is bad, everyone has that, however it can also hinder self-awareness, due to the self-bias that comes with it.)
