Theo Ratliff will be entering the final season of his contract this summer, making him a valuable commodity. The team that holds his rights might also benefit from an insurance payout if Ratliff, who played just two games this season because of a back problem that eventually required surgery, is unable to play. Ratliff believes he will return though. ?Oh, yeah,? Ratliff said. ?Definitely. There?s no doubt about that. I?m sure of that. I?m not ready to quit yet.?http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/457..._to_play_again/
Ratliff was once a very good shot blocker/defender in the league, I do hope to see him to play again but I just know he won't be playing much if he does.
Said this in another thread:Good to see he's still got some gas left in the tank. God forbid if we can't deal him in a package he could be a pretty decent role player off the bench if healthy.

I'm not counting on anything.

You can't deny that he could be a decent role player if he stayed healthy (obviously the wild card which is unlikely to happen, and I mentioned that in my first post, you're making it sound as if I'm thinking he's gonna play all 82 games). Like I said: If we can't deal him for whatever reason, and he can stay healthy, he can give us a decent defensive presence in the post if he's needed.

Don't get me wrong... had he been somewhat healthy this season, he would have been our starting center. I know that, but the fact is that back problems just don't go away.
1-on-1interview with ratliff. he says he has come back from injuries before. for $23 million, he'd better ...http://www.hoopsworld.com/article_21632.shtml
I dont have much faith in the guy. He has been injured SO much the last few years...He is a good defensive presence when healthy, but the guy is never healthy. I would take a risk on him to be honest.
