When my neighbors start mumbling at me in a foreign language, I'm not so sure I should assume it's a "greeting" ;)

I'm digging this one up because it is so obvious that you can not go deep into the playoffs without experienced vets in your team. Is it rally so hard to understand?

Since Felicia left and Blazers started to rebuild Olshey refuse to add ANY vets to the team. Lillard is our general and yet, he's played for one coach only what means his perspective is very narrow. I don't know what I'm missing but Turner is the only guy that can provide some experience from outside but he is (IMO - after I've seen his twitter acc) obviously an idiot.

Olshey is baking that cake with young guns and ok, I (can) understand that could be the plan, but why refuse to add at least ONE f veteran to your team? (and I'm not talking about soft big with knees issues)

Davis & Aminu are both vets.
Frankly they were when they were signed as well.
It's not about adding vets for the sake of adding them. It's about adding the right vets.

He actually jumped closer to Mt. St. Helens. They found some of his stolen money on the banks of the Columbia.

That's why I consider Turner hardly a vet, but at least he has some exp. Aminu? Not that much. Davis? Ever played in S5? I'm talking about real vets, like 30 - 34 yo.
I'm talking about guys like Rondo or DWade, not shining so bright anymore, but can teach youngsters. Why couldn't we get back GHenderson? I mean, we don't have no one to help Damian. It's like, he's going through the woods pretty good, but f.. map would be handy.

Hey, If GH is healthy he could help this team. I do like the idea of a polished seasoned vet that could help lead this team.

I believe Thad Young is a free agent, any chance he takes the MLE to come to Portland, I think he could be a good veteran presence and he’s still a very serviceable role player too.

Stars need help to keep games close so they can win. How did Lebron do before Dwayne Wade and Bosh? Shaq was older but he was still really good when he helped Wade win his 1st.
It’s a star driven league no doubt but, you have to respectable role players to open things up for the stars. For as much as people act like Lebron does it himself, it’s hard to double him when you have Love, and Korver, and JR smith on the perimeter, because teams know those guys can get hot and beat them.
Its what makes Houston so good this year too, the whole team except Capela is dangerous from 3, and Capela is great at getting lobs from the guards so they are super hard to guard because of the stars mixed with good shooters like Ariza and Tucker and even Mbah

Wade and maybe Bosh are both HOF players
Shaq was only 32 and averaged 23/10
    Love is an all star
Houston has 2 HOF players on its roster as well.

Find your stars, then fill in around them.

It's not so much age, as experience, that matters. Neither Davis nor Aminu have experience that exceeds (or even comes close to!) Dame's own experience. Rondo and Wade are great vets because of the experience of having battled all the way to the promised land. Gerald Henderson would just be another Evan Turner - maybe a better player, but certainly not someone who has had a career full of experiences Dame (and CJ) haven't already experienced on their own.

Retooling without vets is an unusual strategy that NO is employing. I'm not sure it's really working out. My personal feeling, FWIW, is that we should have kept Henderson.

Henderson was a spark off the bench for the Blazers. He is an energy guy who gets to the basket. Thats what Portland needs.

Is he going to come back to basketball? Last I heard he had surgery or something.

Gerald Henderson missed last season after surgery....I think it was his hip...he's a floor general...vocal guy..and a guy who can slash to the rim or hit a midrange shot ...hustle defender. I'd welcome him back. The only Blazer I've seen get in Meyers grill on the court about being out of position and not playing defense....loved it...could here him yell through the radio..

I wish we would have gotten Rondo before he went to New Orleans. Rondo and Dame. CJ coming off the bench as a 6th man.
