Lamarcus threw away millions by not re-signing with Portland....he would have made that money but chose to leave it on the table

No, the point was to be an ass hat

To answer you, yes, I botch about not contending. That's what fans should bitch about, don't you think?

Someone with a lot of power, maybe it's PA instead of NO, almost seems afraid to take chances. What the Blazer have, and have been for several years, isn't going to compete. Yet they still seem to follow the same plan.

It's frustrating to me that simply making the playoffs seems to be ok.

lol, so I take it you will no longer be responding to any of my posts then. Can't be stalked if you are the one actually doing the stalking. Have a nice day kid.

Apparently details don't matter. I like how he also put Oladipo on the list as he has been a disappointment up until this year and after he signed the contract. Davis, Beal and Drummond all signed near identical contracts to McCollum as well.

I don't have an issue with you responding to every single one of my posts like a fan girl.

Also, calling someone kid is a quality attempt at being passive aggressive. Nice effort.

You thinking I'm the GOAT, even a young one is flattering though.

This whole time I thought you were just being an annoying troll, but really you were just intimidated by me being the GOAT, in your eyes.

I guess I just don't agree that either PA or NO are content with just playing it safe and making the playoffs. They were willing to part with three first round draft picks to trade for Paul George prior to last year's draft. That was a pretty risky play, but it takes two to make a deal happen and KP wasn't interested in anything that would have helped the Blazers. I feel like Olshey is wanting to make a big trade and is just waiting for the right opportunity to come a long. Fans get to complain about nothing happening. GMs have to actually deal with reality and sometimes that takes more time than fans are willing to allow.

But what would it take to be competitive with the Pelicans?

CJ was on poison-pill provision at the time according to my memory. Even if we would consider moving him then it wouldn't have worked out for the other team financially.

I think that this is part of a false narrative that I've seen around here a lot since the Blazers were swept out of the playoffs. It kind of runs like this: The Blazers weren't competitive against the Pelicans in this year's playoffs, therefore they aren't competitive with the other playoff teams and need to be dramatically rebuilt. I don't think that's accurate. I've been saying since the Blazers were eliminated that the biggest part of what happened to them is that AD made the Pelicans a bad match-up for the Blazers. No other team all season was able to neutralize Dame the way the Pelicans did in that series. It was a combination of Holiday's length and tenacity on defense combined with AD's unique ability to cover enough ground quickly to defend against the screens the Blazers rely on to free Dame up and still get back to defend the middle. It was a different look than the Blazers had seen all year and I don't really think any other team has the assets to pull it off as effectively as the Pelicans did. The Blazers' inability to adjust was exacerbated by the injuries to Harkless and Turner. They needed a reliable wing who could hit from the perimeter to make the Pelicans pay for the constant attention they gave Dame. Chief did what he could, but they needed one more shooter. The reality is that it may be that Harkless isn't good enough for that role and the Blazers simply need an upgrade at SF, but the point is that I see that what the Pelicans pulled off is pretty unique to their talents and the Blazers lacking the one player needed to bust up that defense. I think that the Blazers would have likely beat OKC or the Spurs if that had been their first round match-up.

Yep, some people just think it's as simple as saying this guy for that guy and it's done and then you factor in that George would be a free agent this summer and we could end up with nothing.

and what happens one year doesn't mean it will always happen. It's why the games are actually played on a court and not in a forum.
