Aldridge signed an extension last summer so when the article says that if they trade Kawhi they'll focus on re-signing Aldridge is just wrong information.

NOP without Aldridge was an exceptionally bad match-up for us. I think adding Aldridge would have helped to get us past NOP, and I also think a big 4 of Dame, C.J., LMA and Nurk would have matched up damn well against GSW in the second round.

Me too. As long as they don't give up Damian, CJ, Nurk and Collins (Collins more than Nurk), I'd be happy.

I also am realistic so I know that won't happen.

Maaaaybe. If you believe that LA would play they same way under Stotts that he played under Pops. Somehow - call me crazy - I just don't see that happening.

Take the emotion out of it and he’d be a perfect fit.

I'd take him back in a heartbeat. He could even slide into that "I don't wanna be the center of attention, just let me fill in the gaps" role that Rasheed took on when he went to the Pistons . . . not to suggest that the outcome would be the same.

Pop said he wanted Durant in return for LMA. Wonder what he thinks he will get for Kawhi.
    Should be interesting to watch.

Rather go with Blake Griffin. More expensive, but much better player.

To get rid of those two and get Aldridge back? I'm thinking that would take about five first round picks.

He wouldn't need to be the #1 option in POR like he was in SAS this year. He'd be a hell of a 2nd or 3rd option. If he was willing to call Dame and tell him he wanted to come back, it shows acknowledgement that this is Dame's team.

He was more efficient offensively under Pop (who isn't?), but he had his 2nd and 3rd best seasons under Stotts. His defense his last two years in POR was comparable to what it's been in SAS the last two.

I mean seriously, we're talking about replacing Aminu with Aldridge at the 4 and keeping Dame, C.J. and Nurk. How is that team not significantly better than the one that got bounced by NOP? No way can NOP leave Aldridge unguarded, or guard him with a smaller player, so AD can smother Dame at the point of attack. As long as Aminu has been here, the strategy in the playoffs has been to leave him unguarded to focus on trapping Dame and stopping our offense at the point of attack. And, it works.

With the addition of Aldridge as a 2nd/3rd scoring option, playing a non-scorer like Turner at the 3 becomes much more viable. The Turner + Aminu combo gave NOP two non-threats they could double off of and that killed our offense. With Aldridge, we would surround Turner with four scoring threats, in which case you let Turner bring the ball up and initiate the offense.

As long as she meant Bill Russell, I'd be fine with it.

Just think about this forum and the hallelujah chorus they all would be singing if something like that actually happened.
