Though I do think the Spurs would take Turner, Collins and one first round pick. Turner is three years younger than Aldridge and Spurs would figure out how to make better use of him. I think they would eventually make Collins a better all-around player than Aldridge.

If LA came back there's no doubt we'd be a beast in the west...the good thing is, an allstar wants to play in Portland...

We agree that Aminu is the problem. We disagree that LA is the solution.
I think many people are forgetting that the Double Dame / Ignore Aminu tactic actually pre-dates Aminu - it was the same tactic used when we had LA, and to similar results. LA shot open 18-footers all game long because Dame would get doubled. Oddly (I hate to say this), Aminu shooting 3s might actually be better than LA shooting long-2s. Either way you cut it, the defense is going to bet on Aminu/LA missing more jumpers than they make.

In a vacuum Lamarcus is the better player, but griffin is more realistic.

If by in a vacuum you mean "measuring stats", then sure (I'd actually have to look, but I don't doubt that LA's Spurs-stats are better than Blake's).
But if you mean the skills each player possesses, then no - Blake is a much more skilled player than LA.

Skilled at what? Passing? I’ll give him that. Lamarcus plays better defense and is a more dynamic scorer. Griffin mainly relies on the mid range and athleticism. His post game is average. Lamarcus carried San Antonio this past season, and Portland in years past. You can’t run an offense through Blake, well, not if you want to win at least. He’s pretty much a more athletic Kevin Love.

And we wasted two years of Lillard's prime in the process of him chasing rings in his home state. Fuck Aldridge.

You seem to forget that the ONLY time LA was "the man" (outside of SAS) he lead us right to the lotto. Only Pops can run an offense through LA and get his team to the POs.
LA's defense - outside of SAS - is mediocre as fuck. Blake can shoot, pass, dribble, rebound, and cut/play off the ball. LA might be an equal shooter, but is worse at everything else. LA is basically a rich-man's Aminu.

Duncan quit the second year LA played with him, Kawhi quit the next season.....there's a pattern here

The 17-18 season was arguably his best season of his career along with his first season in SAS.

If LMA came back to Portland, he'd be much closer to the 16-17 season - which is not a dominant player

He had better seasons in Portland, on a playoff team, with the offense run through him, on a top 10 defensive unit.

But let’s ignore it because he broke up with us :(

Aldridge’s game is not based on athleticism and should age well... and he might be one of the very few differences makers available without giving up a major piece of the roster... I would be very disappointed if we kept Dame/CJ together, but if we do, Aldridge is probably the most realistic option that could maybe help this team

Okay, so there was one season (but it was still Roy's team, not LA's) where LA "lead" us to the POs. But the only time this was HIS team we never made it to the POs.

Me too! I suspect that makes a total of two of us for the whole forum.

Oh, I'm sorry, are we also in the Eastern Conference in this scenario?

It was his team with Lillard as well. The entire offense was structured around Lamarcus. The only adjustment Popovich made was to use him the way Portland used him. But since we have an agenda, we should ignore that, right?
