...LMA quits the third year and goes back to Portland?

If you made a move like that, the hope would be that LMA was humbled by the San Antonio experience and just wants to play a role. The problem with that is, SA had to revamp their offense to fit around him, and whether or not it was a direct result, had their worst season in 20 years. How would he fit in with an even more guard-dominant approach than when he left?

    2.4/1.8 assists-to-TOs/gm

He's not remotely available. The article claims he wanted out last summer. He's perfectly happy in SA now, and extended through 2021.

    AMINU IS NOT THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aminu was pretty much our best player in the playoffs:
17.2 ppg, 52% shooting, 13/30 3 pointers (more than any other Blazer, and best 3%)
    9 rpg
    1.2 apg, 1.0 spg, only 1.5 TO/gm

This was Dame's team ever since he dropped LAL in his debut. LA got his shots, but this was Dame's team.

If we’re being fair, New Orleans sold out to stop Lillard. Golden State didn’t sell out on LA because they knew they were superior and could beat them straight up.

But yeah, we shouldn’t ignore the player LA is just because we think he’s a shitty person or whatever bitterness we still hold against him. Dudes a bitch. But he’s a great player.

LOL - so we're going to ignore that the only reason Aminu was our "best" player is because he was left open BY DESIGN (ie, he's actually our worst player)?
Or do teams routinely leave the opposing team's best player wide open?

If he was being left open, and he was scoring efficiently, why didn't we use him more? Another Stotts failure.

Well the Dame and CJ would have someone to score when they get double teamed. They could throw the ball in to Aldridge for an easy basket. We need another scorer. what we don't need is to have to fit the offense around Aldridge again. He'd have to be willing to take a back seat. How humble do you really think SAS have made him?

I suspect that a good percentage of possessions that would have resulted in a shot by Aminu, instead resulted in a turnover? But I do also like pinning it on Stotts!

I'll admit my opinion is completely biased, but I really don't like the dynamic of having a player on the team that is so emotionally unstable that everyone in the organization has to bend over backwards to please him and has to walk on eggshells around him so he doesn't perceive a slight towards him. On top of that he is a liar. Now that he is back to being happy again this almost feels like a PR stunt so Portland fans don't hate him still knowing that a year later there is a much smaller chance he'd be traded.

Why do you assume he'd be available without giving up much?

So yeah Pop is just going to give him away coming off his best season of his career and as you said should age well due to his game.

Not at all. That's why I said it's the problem with that scenario.

LMA hasn't shown that he'll be happy waiting for the ball to be dumped into him as a 2nd option, let alone as a 3rd option.
