Right Now: Palestinian officials say at least 55 people have been killed in the latest round of protests.

    • More than 2,700 Palestinian demonstrators were wounded on Monday along the border fence with Gaza, the Health Ministry reported. The mass protests began on March 30 and had already left dozens dead.

    • The latest protests took place as the United States Embassy was formally relocated to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, on the 70th anniversary of the formation of Israel. The formality and celebration created an almost surreal contrast to the violence raging barely 40 miles away.

The real trump news here isn’t stormy Daniels or the almighty Russian collusion narrative. You guys should be focusing on this instead.

I blame Bill Clinton. He treated Yassir Arafat like a head of state instead of like the criminal he was.

Why not just blame Yassir Arafat instead though....and actually Arafat was the head of state back then so it's not a stretch to treat him that way..so is Kim Jong-Un

I liked your post except for this bit.....Trump has parked Kushner in Israel since he's been elected....until Israel recognizes Palestine as a sovereign state..this problem isn't going anywhere soon...Israel is the bad guy in this conflict from everything I've seen...it's been going on forever...imagine Canada damming up all the rivers flowing south and then see what we've done to Mexico with the water tables...Israel took the water and now wants the real estate...Palestinians have nothing but poverty..there's a great documentary about young Israelis and Palestinians who disagree with the conflict and are trying to resolve things without bloodshed. I believe it was filmed by American roots musician Steve Earl....can find it on Netflix if it's still there. Trump just escalated the conflict by moving the embassy...a totally unnecessary move.

It's not an either-or situation. They are all three part of the same whole.

Palestine is fucked, yeah it terrible that people died but the Palestinian leaders LOVE this shit, they want these headlines of Israel of laying down fire on them.

Palestine is forever the “bad guy” in my mind. Their endgame is the death and destruction of Israel and its people.

If Palestine and surrounding countries stopped being assholes to Israel and accepted their right to be there and stopped protesting and attempting terrorsit acts there wouldn’t be bloodshed.

I agree that there is enough bad blood on both sides that any resolution that satisfies both parties is nearly impossible. At this point though, Israel is committing a slow genocide on the Palestine people and thats something I could never support. Israel is not the victim anymore, they are the aggressors.

Who specifically is being an asshole to Israel these days? Iran is their only real enemy over there anymore..

Like pulling out of the Iran deal. That was more destabilization in the region for no real reason.

Canadian doctor shot by Israeli sniper near Gaza border

A Canadian-Palestinian doctor was shot in the legs by an Israeli sniper and one of his paramedics was killed on the Gaza border Monday as clashes between Palestinian protesters and Israeli Defence Forces left dozens dead and more than 1,000 wounded.

Dr. Tarek Loubani, an emergency physician from London, Ont., who is also an associate professor at the University of Western Ontario’s medical school, joined medical teams on the Gaza border Monday to care for Palestinians who might be injured in demonstrations against the inauguration of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem.

Dr. Loubani, who has served as an emergency field doctor in Tanzania and conflict zones such as Iraq and southern Lebanon, said he was wearing a green surgeon’s outfit and standing with several orange-vested paramedics about 25 metres from the protests at the border when he was hit.

“I am very seasoned about not being shot at. I know where to stand. I know where to be. I know how not to get shot,” he told The Globe and Mail in a telephone interview from Gaza where he recuperating. “Snipers don’t reach me because of mistakes. I did everything right. We were all huddled. We were high visibility. It was quiet at the exact moment I got shot. The bullet went through my left leg, through my right leg out and hit the ground.

Had he been closer to the border area, Dr. Loubani, 37, said he believes it would have “cost me my legs.” The leg wounds will require months of rehabilitation but he said he feels “incredibly lucky.”

I was shot toward the end of the morning, and we had already run out of our first supply of tourniquets. I had just resupplied with 8 units, one of them unpacked in my pocket. We were standing well away from the main protest area. The snipers in the three sniper outposts all had clear views of us.

There was no fire or smoke near us. We were standing still, and I was facing in a southerly direction talking to a colleague. The snipers were situated east of us. I was wearing visible full hospital greens. There was no active shooting from the Israelis immediately before or after. There were no protesters in our immediate vicinity.
I heard a loud bang and found myself on the ground. The bullet had entered my left proximal calf on the lateral side, exited on the medial side (moderate) and pierced my right knee superficial to the patella (minor). I yelled fuck.

The paramedics initiated treatment within 5 seconds, and asked me if I needed a tourniquet. The wound had about 100cc of blood lost on the scene, but didn’t look to be bleeding dangerously. I believe that I was shot with a regular bullet and not the exploding bullets that are causing severe injuries reported today and on other days. Knowing the shortage, I stopped the application of the tourniquet, and was instead given a pressure dressing. There was no live fire before or after my incident."

Pulling out of the Iran deal was long overdue. Why agree to a deal that you have no way of verifying?

They sure don't have to verify it now...Iran has a green light to build whatever the fuck they want....I'd call that an epic failure on Trump's part...so does the rest of the world ....the nuclear proliferation door swings both ways...don't see us getting rid of ours..or Pakistan or India or Russia...China...

They already had the green light to build whatever the fuck they want. If you can't verify that's what happens.

The world knows what they're doing....all the sabre rattling in the world won't change it a bit....fact...under the deal we had, they tested no nukes..unlike Trump's new buddy who shot them over Japan
