I'm sure this will instantly get derided as a horrible idea by many here (lord knows how many should-be GMs are constantly posting on internet message boards...) but I wouldn't hate a pick of Troy Brown if we stayed at 24.

While he certainly didn't score or take over games like a high-end 5* recruit should, his length, athleticism, ball-handling, and court vision all feel like they'd pair nicely with Dame. More importantly, I saw a guy who wasn't afraid to do the little things when his shot wasn't falling -- he was an aggressive and devoted rebounder, worked his ass off on defense and seemed to stay engaged in the game when things weren't going his way offensively, which I think is an exceedingly underrated component to rookie evaluations.

I'm not convinced that he'll ever become a true star like some are suggesting Hutchison could, but I definitely think he's a candidate to outproduce his draft position.

Minnesota or Jazz could also want him

ah, okay. Wasn't sure what direction you were going with this. There is always a chance of him being picked ahead of us and a lot depends on who he works out for also.

If Porter was still on the board at #6 would you do this?

    Magic get CJ

Blazers get #6, Biyombo, and Augustin (or Ross, Mack, Simmons)

We'd be taking a huge risk on Porter.

I think he has also cancelled all workouts.

that's just insane for any team to commit without a workout and interview process. This isn't a LeBron James obvious top pick type player. It also makes me wonder why he isn't willing to compete for a higher draft spot as well. If it's the Blazers I hope they have done lot's of background on the kid and heavily scouted him during the college season.

That's the crazy part about Porter with him being injured during the season. He was listed as a possible 31 before the season started so he has high credentials.

I agree--I think his game is better suited for the NBA. With the right coaching he'll be a great role player if not a starter.

Edit: His game reminds me a lot of ET but with an actual three point shot lol.

I don't think I would if you're talking about Porter at six. As you say huge risk! Maybe another player at 6? Bridges?
I'd resign Davis rather than take on Biyombo.
Id rather get a proven vet for CJ if we are going to deal him?

Which means we could pick him at 24.

Who said he didn't have a workout and interview?

Teams have been working out players for a couple of weeks now
