....and when does Paul plan to build around Dame? If it is not RIGHT NOW, the boat will have sailed. This is my main point.
To NY for Porzingis and the #9! ✨ Come on....in all seriousness you know that if Dame is ever to be moved he would net us the most if it were to happen now. And I’m sorry, but Dame + CJ doesn’t leave us enough $$ to build a team that could ever compete with the likes of Houston or Golden State. Tell me your ideas / concepts for a deal that will truly move the needle! Can’t wait to see your ideas!!
There are already several threads with people posting options. You just have to read them and chime in with your opinion.
We don't know when that dude is gonna play. You wanna trade Dame (1st Team All NBA) for a guy off of an ACL?????????? You'd have to do this first
I’m here daily. I could have started a thread “What can we get by trading Dame now?” But I’m not afraid to state my case - So what do YOU think might be the very best we could get out of all nba first team point guard Dame?
Havent really thought about it because im not interested in moving him. Not worth my effort for three reasons. 1. I dont want to trade him 2. Blazers arent trading him 3. He doesnt want to leave. Kinda makes my opinion on this moot. Like most. Sorry. Also, just because you are here daily doesnt mean you are reading the right threads. im here daily too and there are threads I havent even entered yet on the first page.
In your opinion, what’s the Blazers best possible trade this Summer? I’m truly interested. Do you believe that we can build a team around Dame and CJ that might have a chance against Golden State in 2019/20/21?
Well, a moot opinion might mean saving your comments for threads that interest you! Otherwise it’s only attacking because you believe that you are somehow superior
I'd be interested in seeing what they want for Blake Griffin without trading CJ. I don't think he's long for Detroit. In not however interested in breaking up Dame & CJ right now. And Stotts/NO get one more year from me.
I’m with you on this option: a healthy Blake (with Nurk, CJ and Dame) sounds very enticing. I’m not sure how it gets done financially and I’d be worried about Blake’s health - but a very good chance at competing!
Trading Dame would be like... You are now married to Mrs. America. But you want to get rid of her for a chance of being married to Mrs Universe. But the odds are your new bride will turn into Stormy Daniel's or, Rosie O'Donnell. I agree with you, trading Dame will move the needle. However, it will move in the wrong direction.
Here's the trade I posted in the "You Be the GM" thread. Gives us a lineup of Dame/Middleton/Porter/Griffin/Nurk with Baldwin/Snell/Swanigan/Leonard. Bring in Courtney Lee with the TPE, and perhaps a couple vets with the MLE--that's a formidable squad.
This THREAD doesn't interest me because as I previously stated, this is a topic of discussion in several threads, so Yes, you can think I feel superior for trying ot help you understand there are other threads already discussing this. But you know this because you are here daily. Got it. What you took as an attack was my intention of trying to let you know this is and has been discussed. But if you need your own thread for your own discussion, have at it....
They should give Griffin for anything at this point. He’s just a bad contract, will make $31.8M next year and over $38M at the end of his contract in 2021-22 (and you can assume he will be very bad at that point at 33). We can’t match his salary with expiring contracts now but will be able to in a year. If in the middle of 2019-20 we send them Leonard, Turner and Harkless who are about to expire at that time they would take it and run.
well we disagree...I think Dame will have a long, successful career here...best Blazer ever.....I think the boat is still in port. I think you'll see upgrades to the roster this off season. Nurk, Collins and Baldwin have all been upgrades in my view..I think Swanigan will be better than some think as well...I'm also the rare fan who thinks Connaughton's work ethic will pay off this summer...he's a smart guy with a motor who had the best exit interview on the roster...said exactly what he was targeting to work on offseason. This ain't the Raymond Felton Luke Babbitt show anymore
It gets done by trading them Evan Turner for cap relief. Saves them $108 million in salary alone (not counting luxury tax). Of course, it puts us in luxury tax hell, but GSW and CLE don't seem to mind paying a shit load of tax. We'd need to include other goodies (draft picks, young players), but that's how these blockbuster trades happen. If not, identify the next disgruntled star and/or GM with buyer's remorse... We also have a $13 million TPE and a tax-payer MLE to use to fill out the roster. All of these moves mean we are playing luxury tax, but it's inevitable anyway, and it seems necessary if you actually want to contend. BNM
