I certainly think so, and I think that they could do it even this year. People say they are missing that dominant scorer, but its defense that wins championships, and the Bulls are not pioneers in that area. I think if not this year or the next few, the Bulls will win a championship under Scott Skiles.
The Bulls are a jump shooting team, they don't how much of a low post threat other then Ben Wallace and it's mostly Ben Gordan and Kirk running the offense with Deng also taking the jump shots. When I watch the Bulls all I see is jump shots, yes they do seem to make a lot of them but they also seem to miss a lot of them. Don't get me wrong, Chicago is a great team and I think they can be a 'championship' type team. Not this year, IMO there is no way in hell they make it out of the East beating the Heat and the Pistons. Hard enough to beat the Heat, and I doubt they do that.
No, they aren't. They are on the right track, but they are a low post scoring threat away from being a legitimate contender. If they want to make the jump, they better look hard into dealing for Gasol, Garnett, or Jermaine this summer.
I wouldnt say just yet but they get a lottery pick this year and who knows how it goes after we clear up some more money after we probably let pj go or resign him cheaper
The Bulls lack a true go-to scorer during crunch time, they need to bring in a great scorer if they want to make any noise in the playoffs. They have a solid core of 'good' players, but not any 'great' ones.
They have a lot of excellent pieces, but are still missing that one big piece that will take them over the hump. I think they will make some noise this year though. I have them beating Miami in the first round, but losing to Detroit in the second round. If they can somehow manage to beat Detroit, I think they'd make it to the Eastern Conference Finals. They really screwed up their chances this year though by losing in New Jersey in the season finale. Had they won, they would have played Toronto in the first round, and Cleveland in the second... and would have had a much easier path to the conference finals this year.
Yes, provided they add that final piece, a post player. But, where are you going to find a good low post player at a low price? Can you really afford to give up Deng, Gordon, or Hinrich or more than one of them? I think Pax did the right thing not to trade yet...but he might have to eventually.
I think the Bulls can get away with not having a 'go to scorer' if they had an offensive option in the post. Thats what they really need. Right now outside of Wallace they have 4 jumpshooters. They need a post player but the Bulls don't have the money to add one. I think in the East they will continue to develop into a dominant team, they simply have too many weapons not to.
