I have been checking Verlander’s pitching records going back to to 2014. Something strange is going on.

    2014........15-12.......ERA 4.54
    2015........ 5- 8................3.38
    2016.........16- 9...............3.04
    2017..........15-8................3.36 ( Det. 10- 8. 3.82/ Hou 5- 0 1.06 )
    2018.......... 6- 2................1.08

With his move to Houston, he has given up 2 + less runs per game average since his days in Detroit.
    So, what gives?

Same situation with Charlie Morton who is 7-0 with ERA 2.04. With Pit 2014....6-12...3.72,
    2015.....9-9......4.81; 2016 with Phi. 1-1 4.15; 2017 Hou 14- 7....3.62.
He, too, has given up 2+ less runs per game.

Of course, both men are playing for a far superior team than before. Does this mean a 35 & 34
year old have obtained the fountain of youth at this stage of their careers?

Tough pitching trifecta coming up. Would be nice for the offense to finally solve Verlander and Morton.

Since his miracle against Cleveland our buddy Domingo has not fared well. there is a bullpen that is about as reliable as a modern cars temporal spare tire.

Thinking in a realistic manner given the pitching matchups (on paper) I'll be happy if the Yankees take the series. Just a damn shame that German is the best pitcher th Yankees can come up with.

I see Stanton is off today. Actually he's been off for a while. Could be he's in Weight Training preparing for the day when he'll carry the club. As John Wayne spoke and Buddy Holly sang "That'll be the day!!!!!!!!!!

Big adjustment for Stanton playing in front of 40,000 instead of 100 fans in florida. The other thing imo is learning the pitchers in the AL that you don't see that much of in the nl. Bottom line is he's too good a player to stay in this slump much longer. Hopefully he makes the adjustment shortly.

This ump sucks. Verlander getting strikes called outside both sides of the plate and german has to put the ball down the middle for a strike. And theres the result 3 run homer. Boone needs to rip this HP asshole a new asshole

Great fucking job, German...spotting Verlander 3 runs might be insurmountable.

...get on the phone Cashman and get us some more pitching because the staff we have ain't gettin' it done.

Kid deserved a better fate. Should have only given up 1 run as didi should have made play and then weak ground ball to 2nd followed. If didi takes his 4-70 hitting woes into the field its gonna be a problem. What the hell happened to didi?? Somebody hitting him with a voodoo doll?
