I am going to continue holding out hope that we use the TPE with the 76ers for Bayless and any number of goodies they have or a team in the mid to late teens to take on a bad contract for their pick. I know it kind of goes against what Olshey said.

I really want to just get as many chances to hit a home run as possible by loading up on picks and taking international guys (Musa, Okobo, Kurucs), guys that slip in the draft that are boom or bust types (Simons, Robinson, etc), and/or guys who could be potential breakouts (Hutchison, Zhaire, Khyri, etc). Someone from that range is going to pop in the NBA and we really need to find that guy.

It wouldn’t surprise me if we ended up buying a second rounder, even if we trade our first(s)

Olshey and Paul love the draft too much and it’s a cheap way to fill out a roster.

Not sure if we have much if any money left to buy a pick as each team only gets about 3.5 mil to use in trades or buying picks and the clock doesn't reset till after July 1st. There use to be a website that listed what each team has but I can;t find it now.

This year it went up to $5.1 million and we still have $2.5 million of that left.

Yeah, I think the Warriors bought the 38th pick last year for $3.5 million (Jordan Bell). There are teams with multiple 2nd rounders like the 76ers who likely won't actually use them all.

I don’t think any player has been mentioned more in Blazer forums as an acquisition target as much as Courtney Lee. It makes me LOL at this point. Is any other fan base in love with a guy who is 32 and a career 10ppg role player like Blazer fans and Courtney Lee? What am i missing.

He's one of the few/only players that is legitimately realistic for our trade assets

Pretty much this. A good player that fits within TPE and on a team that would be motivated to shed his salary. There really aren’t that many of those players out there worth paying tax on. He’s the closest one.

And we can throw in a future 2nd alongside cash if need be, which could get us into the 31-40 range.

He makes #8 pick from last year, Ntilikina look like a scrub. Nice wing-span and size. If you could get that type of production at that age at #24, take him.

Diff players. This guy's more of a scorer, but Ntilikina is going to be a monster defender. I say we try to get both, then trade for Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and we can call them "The French Quarter" (because they'll be almost a quarter of the roster)

After watching Okobo, he has almost Dame-like range, is a very willing passer, moves well without the ball, can pull up going right or left, can finish with either hand and has a nice little mid-range game.

HOWEVER, I saw him fighting really hard to get through/around screens and there is no room for that kind of defense in Portland.

    NEXT!

As of now, NBADraft.net has Okobo going #30 to Atlanta who owns the Rockets pick.
They have NCAA Finals MVP Donte DiVencenzo going to Portland at #24 with Chandler Hutchinson going #22 to Chicago.
(Use to use Draft Express a lot but now they are a pay site with ESPN)

    Atlanta Hawks with 3 1st round picks (#3, #19, #30) and #33 in the 2nd round.
    Clippers with #12 and #13.
    Philly with #10, #26, #38, #39, and #60.

If Portland wants add'l picks, some should be available.
