Help! He’s Jones’n again! The “trade ideas thread” on page 2 or 3....haven’t even seen that one in a while. Oh wait! You started this one! And opened with a homer trade proposal - yes, I now recall.
Well it's also important to note that if you say something stupid you get called out on it, just like you did with Bones above. Your trade proposal is pointless to discuss because Boston would never even consider doing it. Why not come up with some actual Dame trades that are realistic if you want to have a thoughtful discussion?
You go with Ayton or Doncic? Also if you trade Dame you might as well trade CJ cause I don’t believe CJ is good enough to carry a team basically by himself with a bunch of young guys.
Then how long would it take for the Blazers to win 48 games? 3-4 years? If I'm trading Dame or CJ it best be for already proven youngsters on the rise or really superb vets that could offer some balance.
I agree with Dame if he’s traded you’re basically shutting down shop for a while. I Think CJ is good but depending on the trade, the Blazers could probably gethis production somewhere else.
Theoretically, if Dame is traded, it's based on a desire to reach a significantly higher threshold than 48 wins, and the (likely flawed) belief that a team centered on him would have too low a ceiling, whereas a team built around (for example) Doncic (#1), Bagley (#4), Bridges (#9), and Collins would be able to reach significantly greater heights as they develop together. I'm not saying that the troika of deals necessary to pursue that path are either realistic or desirable; simply explaining the thought process that could lead to them.
Yup! Although assuming Ayton goes #1 I'd trade Dame for #2 instead (I don't really want to trade Dame, just playing along) and some other pieces such as Hield, Fox, Skal, etc. #2 Doncic #4 Bamba #9 Mikal Bridges Add in Collins and that is a damn good start of a roster.
Lillard's value will never be higher and that's why we should trade him now. I'd prefer someone in their late 30s with lots of experience and make it a bench player who's head is not swollen. My God, the brilliance of it.
