Jesus Christ, Al...how many draft picks have the Yanx had in the last 20 years?...Cashman is in charge of the draft and there is accountable...and he's done a piss poor job, period.

And I did not say Seve does not count, only that he was acquired as a FA.

...seriously, do you think Cashman has done well in drafting pitching?...yes or no?

FWIW Al, in the 20 drafts since Cashman became GM he has drafted a pitcher with their initial pick 13 freaking times...without googling, how many can you name?

zero because to me the draft is a frigen crap shoot...

although i do believe we traded a former first rounder in the Sonny Grey who had arm surgery.

two guys that have been drafted by the yanks are sitting in their pen

...lol, you could have just stopped at "zero".

...20 years Al, 20 freaking years, and Cashman has never drafted a pitcher who has distinguished himself...so I really don't understand the point you are trying to make.

I don't give 2 shits about other teams...I care about the Yanx...if I followed other teams, I'd probably be able to answer you without googling like you did.

...what difference does it make when according to you, "the draft is a crap shoot"?

...but I do recall Roger Clemens and Mike Mussina being drafted in the 2nd half of the draft...and I also know that the Braves, Cardinals, and Rays are all ver good at cultivating young pitchers...and I'm sure there are others as well.

    Kennedy was/is a good pitcher
Phil Hughes and Joba got fucked around with between being a starter and reliever

    Should Cashman have done better..sure...

Lets look at who is leading the ERA

Verlander....drafted by Detroit and with the 2nd overall pick traded
DeGrom...drafted by the Mets in the 9th round 272 overall pick...
Scherzer drafted by the Dbacks with the 11th overall pick traded
Kluber drafted by San Diego in the 4th round 134th overall pick traded
Aaron Nola drafted by Philidelphia 7th overall pick
Severino...international free agent by the yankees
Cole drafted by Pitt (after the yanks drafted and failed to sign) 1st overall
Mike Foltynewicz drafted by Houston 19th overall traded
Gio Gonzalez drafted by Chicago 38th overall traded 3rd team
Snell drafted by Tampa 52nd overall
Wacha drafted by St Louis 19th overall
Lester drafted by Boston 57th overall 3rd team
Miles Mikolas drafted by San Diego 7th round 204th overall 3rd team
Arrieta drafted by Baltimore 5th round 159th overall 3rd team
Newcomb drafted by the Angles 15th overall
Bauer drafted by Arizona 3rd overall
Morton drafted by Atlanta 95th overall 4th team
Daniel Mengdan drafted by Houston 106th overall
Corbin drafted by Angles 80th overall
Sale drafted by White Sox 13th overall

Alot of picks some very high..some not so...not many playing for the team that drafted them

I was unaware Tanaka decided not to opt out. Smart move, as I doubt any other Team would pay him half his salary...

I don't see much in this year's FA Class. Just say NO to Kershaw, and most others over the age of 30, and those with big fat contracts. IF Corbin didn't already have TJ, he'd be a nice pick up, but he's already blown his elbow out once. No SP's under the age of 30??? Richards??? Slim Pickings...

...true, but he told the Yanx not to draft him, but they did it anyway.

...also true, but I'm sure there will be a lot of "sellers" by the trade deadline.

Indeed, I have <little faith in Trashman making the right moves/trade... Steinbrenner should put Trashman's ass on the line, if they do not make postseason!!! Or bumbles obtaining the right SP..

    Game recap

Yankees win 25 of Severino's last 28 starts.

Yankees with 93 home runs on the year - HFC...
Perhaps Sanchez needs to be SAT down for a few games...
