You used to be able to issue a tech for excessive complaining.

    Not sure where that went.

Say what you want but when asked about whether he knew the score, he said that he did. Also, the throw was to a man who had a better chance than him at attempting a shot. Why didn't he just hang on to it, get fouled, make the free throws and put the game out of reach like every other player would do if they thought their team was ahead?

I mean, if that's your criteria, then I can't really argue with the outcome. But at the same time, you have to realize your view is in the minority on the importance of championships, so it doesn't make sense to be dismissive of the media for painting the usual portrait.

Robert Horry keeps being brought up by various people, but seriously, that name should not be thrown around without a major asterisk attached. GOAT discussions are about leaders, not deep-in-the-pecking-order role players. Karl Malone is a much better addition to the discussion. By your "championships don't matter" criteria, he should be very near the top of the GOAT discussion. Do you honestly believe he belongs there, or is he more in the #5-15 range that most would place him at with his lack of hardware? Because if you don't put him in the top-3, your criteria is being inconsistently applied.

I personally feel that the Cavs will come out swinging and win game 3 especially since the Warriors has had a tendency to play nonchalantly in their first game at CLE in the Finals. Game 4 is a different story.

I don’t mean to make this personal, or to argue with you, I absolutely understand that GS looks unbeatable, that people are tired of GS and Cleveland, I get there are a plethora of reasons why even a basketball fan would say nope this isn’t for me.
I guess I just don’t understand how many times people have come into this thread just to remind people they aren’t going to watch, it’s on topic at least.
Is it just frustration at the NBA and these two teams that fans really want to let it be known they aren’t happy?
Anyways, I know it’s not just you, it just seems like this whole, “Im not going to watch”, “it’s boring”, etc. Keeps coming up...

I don't understand why fans of a small market team buys-in to the Finals, which are a reflection of the very system that doesn't give small markets a chance. I don't understand why people dont have an issue with the lack of parity, and the most meaningful basketball being predictable from the start of training camp.

I don’t see it as small markets don’t have a chance. They just have to be smart or get Lucky Cleveland is getting smaller but they have Lebron. LAL, NYK, Brooklyn, Chicago are all bad who knows when they’ll be good again. The problem is really about how star driven basketball is, you either have the stars or you don’t, and sure stars may more likely go to certain places and lately there has definitely been a tendency for them to group up in forced trades or FA.
I do hate many things about the NBA, the officiating drives me crazy, the fact going into the year you almost always know who is good and who is bad, it at times feels like they’re playing for exercise. So I get it, I really do, my dad is the one who spurred my love of basketball and I can't even get him to go to or watch a game anymore. He scoreboard watches and turns on the Blazer playoff games, and that's it.
The flip side to me is, Lebron like him or hate him is one of the best ever to play basketball it's fun to watch great players play, GS like or hate them are a great basketball team and I also enjoy watching them, though I absolutely get that when KD left OKC to join a 73 win basketball team it feels like it broke the NBA. So I understand what you're saying.

I was not talking about GOAT at that point, I was talking about legacy. Wilt would be a better example if I was. I am sure he would have won as many titles as Russel if he was on the Celtics. Either way it is debatable.

It might not make sense to be dismissive of the media, but your previous comment about blaming LBJ ("but LeBron is most directly responsible for the ruining of the modern NBA with players forming super teams") probably would not of happened if not for the media constantly stating that his legacy hinged on winning like Kobe or MJ. If someone needs to be blamed....I would start there, not LeBron.

Well, if there's ever a time to give a guy "a chance", it's definitely game 3 of the finals...

I don't recall the media pushing him out of Cleveland. At that point, it felt like it was all about LeBron seeking the limelight and a stronger supporting cast. Remember the jokes back then about him not playing well in the 4th quarter..."LeBron and 50 Cent are forming a group. They're calling it $1.25!" He needed a closer like Wade. It's weird to think back, now that LeBron is a virtually unstoppable force throughout games. Other than his anti-Kobe lack of killer instinct, there wasn't much to be critical of him for.

When he returned to Cleveland, the ultra slick PR spin he put on it was Miami was his 4 years to go away to college and grow, having never experienced that "away from home" opportunity. No media angle there.

When your championship hopes are riding on Rodney Hood, you know you're desperate.

The only thing that sucks worse than Rodney Hood in the playoffs last year is Rodney Hood in the playoffs this year.

Yes coach, please give us more of the guy who is 3-20 from 3-point range in the playoffs. That's EXACTLY what you need. Hey, law of averages right. He's due!

I think it's a good move. No one's making shots. Give him a chance.
