@hoopsjock what do you think of my free agency idea?

 

So i read the thread. Still don't really understand what the end game is here? How do you come up with a winner? Are you assigning points for completing a trade? After all the trades and free agency is done and then you do a draft you end up with an amount of players. But how do you know if you have done a good job or not? A good example of my point here is the Thunder last year. Most figured that team hit a home run in free agency but look what happened. How do you play a season to find out who wins?

I actually like the idea of doing 2k sims when 2k19 comes out.
I haven’t bought the last 2k game because I didn’t like the focus on VC, but if no one wants 2k19 I can get it, pc or PS4 doesn’t matter so we can do sims.

 

KJ in real life no one knows who won the off season until the season is played. I don't get why there has to be a "winner". Obviously there will be people who improved their team and those that didn't. It's about the fun of the process.

The only issue I have with the 2k thing is when we do it. If we simulated it before the season this years rookie equivalent of guys like Donovan Mitchell and Kyle Kuzma wouldn't be rated very high. So you don't get rewarded for a really good late pick.

 

It's a cool idea, since we will be participating in free agency I'm worried that we'd have too much power or inside information and that it would take a lot of time, ha ha.

 

You guys would be better off just ignoring free agency as there is no way to do it realistically or fair.

Me 2. In fact, I think I said before that to make it Sly or Brian.

 

The problem is there are way too many free agents and in free agency the player has control of his destiny, not the existing team or the team wanting to acquire him. Take for example a player like David West. Many teams would probably not have a problem offering him a 5mil contract but as we have seen the last few years he is willing to take much less to stay on a contending team. You guys need to come up with the rules to free agency and let people put their input in, but I just don't see a realistic way of it working.
