It is. I would not be surprised if there would be a city council shakeup after that. I do not know about you - but I usually do not vote for local government based on their federal political views. There is a good chance that this is exactly what happened here.
Funny you should memtion this. Made me take stock of the various people I met on the recent eight months trip to CA. I met quite a few but only four stand out now in memory. One gentleman that ran the marina in Oxnard, a Kiwi of partial Maori decent. Very helpful knowledge guy. One lady, a Chinese immigrant. She brought me cookies. One gentleman in the shipyard prepping his ship to go to Hawaii. He was from Hawaii. Very generous helpful man. Big admirer of the MarAzul too. One gentleman from Oregon. We sort of teamed up to tackle the trip back to Oregon. Each of us single handing our respective boats.
You Sir, failed to show up when invited!!! Well, maybe you were in Oregon then. Not sure I remember exactly.
Everytime I have to travel to California for work, It takes me about one meal to realize I couldn’t afford to live there. I was in San Diego in February and I went down to the restaurant In the Hotel for breakfast $44 bucks. Seriously I got scrambled eggs, a grapefruit, a piece of ham and coffee the 44 did include tip, but my Goodness. My expense report for California trips are usually up around 1k, most other places like 2-300 dollars (not including hotel and airfare for either).
I’m going to ask a question, it’ll probably sound like I’m just being a jerk or trying to pick a fight, but my intent is more just because I struggle to wrap my head around it. When we talk of socialist, economics, high taxes and all of that stuff in the US almost all the left leaning states are doing poorly economically why is that? - I admit to being conservative in a lot of ways. I like to understand people though, like from my mindset I see it like every state that tries to do run under those policies and especially big cities struggle so why do people buy into it? Is the belief that it’s just not being implemented correctly in those places? Is it the mix of high tax states and still being a “sort of” capitalist country. Let’s not get lost on the vernacular of capitalist and socialist. I'm just curious as to how people who want high taxes, equal incomes and such believe it can be made to work?
I don't know that it is all that surprising. There are more than a few Latinos families, long time Americans that are quite conservative..
I will readily admit that I have a lot to learn, so the questions aren't meant to sound like I want to pick a fight and tell them how wrong they are for their beliefs. I don't find myself in the off topic area very often because I know I'm an idiot in the "politics world" and I have chosen to be because I think politicians for the most part suck...
I believe your data is wrong. Very wrong. http://www.businessinsider.com/state-economy-ranking-q1-2018-2#18-wyoming-34
Do you honestly believe California has the 6th best economy in United States? Is that why so many want to move? Now I know that doesn’t discredit the entire list, and it’s an interesting mix.
