Watching that video against the Thunder, I saw a guy with very good court vision and awareness and the ability to fit the ball into very tight areas. I also saw a guy who had a lot of trouble creating anything on his own and finished around the basket worse than our own Caleb Swanigan.

He could go to the Nuggets and play with his buddy Will. That would be a much better team than what we have, minus CJ, plus Doncic.

Spurs are also a good choice, mind the awkwardness with LMA. Tony Parker needs replacing.

He would be a better replacement for Bledsoe at Milwaukie.

There are quite a few teams that Dame can join and elevate them into serious contenders.

If I have to over pay someone, I'd rather over pay someone who actually belongs on the court. For as much as CJ has his issues he's a legit NBA player and at this point Parsons really isn't...

CJ is one of the best scorers in the league and very possibly our best offensive player

It’s not a CJ vs Parsons debate... its CJ vs Doncic and Parsons... there is no cap room if you don’t take Parsons so I don’t understand your concern about money when you agree you would take Doncic without Parsons

CJ is an ISO ball chucker that kills the flow of the offense... he would rather go one on three than pass to an open teammate... undersized, doesn’t pass, doesn’t play defense, getting paid near 30 mil per

Yep. In a heartbeat and without a second thought.

The other day I posted a complicated trade scenario just to get Doncic.
    http://www.sportstwo.com/threads/trade-ideas-thread.330308/page-31

The reason it was so complicated is that I think you have to get to #2 to draft him. Sacramento has a good chance of trading down if they can still keep a top 6 pick.

Likewise, I can't see Memphis being willing to trade down without keeping a top 10 back in return.

Bullshit, CJ isn't selfish and he scores a very good percentage. If he and Dame cooperate better instead of trying to steal eachothers' thunder we wouldn't be getting swept to the fucking Pelicans

"Bust" level Doncic is current level CJ.

CJ is good, but he's nowhere close to being elite.

No bust level Doncic is back playing in Europe in 3-4 years cause he couldn’t make it. CJ is an eite scorer sure he’s not that good anywhere else but we have no idea how well Doncic will do in the NBA.

You don't get more. If anything, they ask for our #24 as well.

So, I'll put you down for a "no".

So that's a "no, I would never trade a known quantity for an unknown quantity, even if many scouts think he may be the best ever from Europe". Got it.

I would do this trade but that's unfair. CJ is a top-3 player on a top-3 (in the West, in the regular season) player.

I think people are thinking of players like Rudy, Navarro, Spanoulis, et al. when they say that Doncic could go back to Europe. But that is very very unlikely to be the case. Doncic at 19 won MVP of the Euroleague over all of those guys. Rudy is ON DONCIC'S TEAM and is completely overshadowed. By a 19-year-old. (And Rudy was pretty good until he got decked by Ariza.)

Luka doesn't need to jump out of the gym. He needs a high bbiq and the ability to PASS the fricken ball to open teammates. He has that in spades along with the ability to get his own shot off with a deadly step back.

Luka would improve the flow of the offense and keep us from being so one dimensional.

People are sleeping on Luka because he isn't in the U.S.!

I don’t care if he’s my next door neighbor, until he proves he can do it in the NBA it doesn’t really matter to me what he does.
He very well might be a really good NBA player someday.

To me Dame is one of the franchises best players ever in his prime and if you are going to trade CJ for this package you’re basically saying we’re building around Collins and Doncic, which is fine but you might as well trade Dame, because they won’t be competing for anything for at least another 3-5 years and no way Dame sits around and waits that out.

He was mediocre in that highlight video. I know he was 17, but I haven't seen enough to give a yes, and I certainly don't see a generational talent. Meh

I get it. Luka, like every player in the draft hasn't proven they can play in the NBA. The question could be how far are they going with Dame and CJ and haven't we already seen how that is playing out for several years now? Unless we can finally bring someone in with the few options we have available to work with then how are we helping prime Dame?
