    as I said....Brad Stevens sure doesn't think so...nor Stotts...you don't like him, fine....but he's a talented ball player

I've always said the draft is a crap shoot but in ETs case, he's not a rookie and this is his 3rd team....every coach has played him rotation minutes...Bennett is probably at a bowling alley in Madrid

I kind of think ET is better tha. Troy Brown, ET at least has a good post up game, and mid range game. Unless Browns offense has improved a lot he’s not really ready to be an impact player on offense in the NBA.

Suppose Brown slips and is available at our pick. Should we take him?

That's true, but I also think Steve Kerr has used Bell more creatively than Altman did.

I watched Bell start for the Ducks many games at Mathew Knight Arena...he comes off the bench for GS in spot minutes....he was used very well for the Ducks....I really wanted us to draft him

Very few are. (one and done's) Isn't the nba draft now about who will be an impact player as opposed to who is now?

Having said that there seems to be quite a few players out there who have a ton of potential. This is where we need a savvy front office who can best evaluate young talent. Not sure who the answer is, but then again I am not getting paid to know.

    Brown
    Bates-Diop's
    Melvin Frazier
    Shake Milton
    Josh Okogie
    Musa
    Evans

Agreed. Given what was around him in Eugene vs what he has surrounding him in Oakland, I think he did very well for the Ducks. He is an afterthought for the opponents of the Warriors. They don't account for him hardly at all because of the other options they have to pay attention to.

I wouldn’t be upset with them picking Brown he does have potential, I just don’t see him as much a contributor right now.

Exhibit D as to why Philly, with high lotto pick after lotto pick, has sucked so bad for so long. Trust the process, LOL.

I think ET is a good NBA player, he’s just got a contract that’s steep for what he does. He’s also not really a good fit with Portland in my opinion. He could be a contributor in the right place, and if his contract was 6-7M a year cheaper the resentment towards him is completely different.

I will say one thing about Brown, as soon as I watched his first couple of his games at Oregon way back in non-conference, I immediately thought this is someone I want on the Blazers, assuming he improved his 3 ball. He has the potential to be a complete player. I just didn't think he would leave after one year. But there are some other players who intrigue me a little more.

I don't think Evan is trash. Just grossly overpaid and not a great fit with our team. And in hindsight, not a top 2 pick. Blazers need to make some moves. If we could get into a three-way sending Evan back to Stevens, I'd be all for it.

I think it's true that he's not a great fit with the Blazers. Stotts's offense places a premium on 3 pt. shooting, and that's not ET's forte. He is a decent defender and can be a play-maker, so it's not as though he's a terrible fit though. As far as money goes, SGs in the same average salary range ($17-19M) include:

    Allen Crabbe: $18.7M
    Jimmy Buttler: $18.5M
    Kentavious Caldwell-Pope: $17.7M
    Tim Hardaway Jr.: $17.7M
    Wesley Matthews: $17.5M
    ET: $17.5M
    Klay Thompson: $17.2M
    Evan Fournier: $17M

Obviously, Klay Thompson is an outlier as he's due a huge pay increase. ET's point production is out of line with the rest of those guys, but he does other things that are pluses. I'd say he's overpaid by around $4-5M per year. I think that the Blazers are stuck with him for at least next season. After that, he may be valuable as an ending contract.

Turner is BY FAR the worst player on that list.

No, that's crazy. He may be the worst OFFENSIVE player, sure, but I'd take him over Hardaway and Fournier without blinking. And Crabbe hasn't exactly blown up in Brooklyn (as I thought he would).

Hence my statement that he's overpaid. That's not on him; it's on Olshey. I don't get the hate so often expressed around here towards ET and Meyers based on their salaries. All they did was sign a contract that was presented to them by the Blazers.
