They are a perfect 4-0 in playoff history when they win the first game of the series. With a win tonight, the Cavaliers would take a 2-0 series lead for just the second time in team history. Cleveland took a 2-0 lead against New Jersey in the First Round of the Eastern Conference playoffs in 1992 and went on to win the series 3-1. In seven career playoff games against the Wizards, LeBron James has averaged 33.9 points on .509 shooting (84-165), 7.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists. He posted 23 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in Game 1. With his 23 points, James moved past Craig Ehlo into fifth all-time in team history in playoff scoring (423 points). Larry Hughes' 27 points in Game 1 marked his playoff high as a Cavalier and the third highest postseason total in his career. The Cavaliers held the Wizards to .367 (29-79) shooting in Game 1. Since the 1992 Playoffs, the Cavs are 5-1 when holding opponents to less than .400 from the field. Cleveland Head Coach Mike Brown is now 8-6 (.571) all-time in the playoffs. He has the second-most playoff wins of any head coach in Cavs history (Lenny Wilkens ? 18)Washington Wizards @ Cleveland Cavaliers Game One Box Score.Didn't feel like editing much but the stats Last season Washington beat Cleveland in Game 2 so this is a win the Cavaliers need to boost the momentum up going into Washington. Butler is planing on returning in game three so this win would be great. Go Cavaliers, w00t.
Well, Washington isn't expecting Butler back at all.Wizards don't expect Butler to play vs. CavaliersWASHINGTON -- Washington Wizards coach Eddie Jordan ruled out having injured Caron Butler back for the first-round playoff series against Cleveland. The All-Star forward was to have the cast removed from his broken right hand on Monday. "He is not in our plans, right now -- not as a player," Jordan said after practice Monday. "If we get deeper in the playoffs, possibly, but not in the first round."Asked whether there's any chance Butler could face the Cavaliers, Jordan said: "To me? No. Not to me."Butler was injured when he hit his hand on the backboard while trying to block a shot during a game April 1. His recovery was supposed to take six weeks. Two games later, All-Star guard Gilbert Arenas tore his left knee, then had season-ending surgery.Butler was averaging career highs in points (19.1), rebounds (7.4) and assists (3.7), and the Wizards would love to have him in the lineup against the Cavaliers, who lead the best-of-seven series 1-0 heading into Wednesday's Game 2 at Cleveland. But Butler's teammates also are assuming he won't be able to face LeBron James and the rest of the Cavaliers."My mind-frame is, if there's a chance for Caron to come back, it's pretty much going to be in the second round," Antawn Jamison said. "My job and the rest of my teammates' job is to figure out a way to get to the second round, and then we can get some help."He's been out for a while, and to put that pressure on him as far as coming back in this series is a lot. You want to make sure that it's healed, and you don't want to rush him back too quickly." Source
I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs sweep, even though they seem sort of passive at times....The Wizards just have no offensive attack with out Caron and Gilbert...And the Cavs have a great defense (Mike Brown is obviously a great defensive coach), and they have Lebron Freaking James. And if Hughes plays like he did in Game 1, I would bet money on the Cavs winning in 4.
The news about Caron Butler sucked all the hope out of me in this series. I'll still cheer on the Wizards but it won't be the same without that slight hope about Caron returning and Wizards putting up a big fight in the seres.
Well, GArenas I had no idea what kinda Sig to get ya but I had someone do something for ya. Here it is hehe. Yer, nothing big but just saying you guys Miss Larry. Also, we all know Gilbert will be in the stands for this game again. I bet he will be wearing this...
Anyone watching the game? Great 1st half of basketball. Gooden was unstoppable in the 2nd, kind of scary. It's on NBA TV for other people who don't live in the DC/Cleveland area.WSH 48CLE 51
Nah, it's on NBA TV. ^What a pathetic 3rd quarter for the Wizards. bullsh** call on Haywood for the offensive foul. I hate Varajeo. Darius needs to lose some weight. DeShawn at least needs to convert dunks.
As usual, the Wizards start making these little runs to give the other team a scare, but then they just lose when it matters most. Oh well, we put up a fight. The series is coming to DC!
Washington had a good game, but Gooden and the Cavaliers wouldn't have any of it at the end. Wizards still put up a huge fight and tired to stay in this ballgame. Cleveland just needs to get one quick win over in D.C to make the series go back to Cleveland so we can win it. I can honestly see the Wizards taking at least one ballgame.

I want to see this series on National Television! So far, they played the first game really early in the morning out here in Hawaii, and then the next one is on NBATV which I don't have. Anyone know if the next game will be on ESPN or TNT?

So I'm looking forward to going out there and seeing Larry Hughes back in D.C. This time at 100 percent and this time with his mind on helping the Cavaliers take over. Also, did you get your missing Larry Sig?
