now they trade 26 and 48th for 22. How does that make sense? Just move up 4 spots?

Oh christ we just traded up. Positives: Gorton has a pulse. Negatives: Who the F is even worth trading up for at this point? Please not Wilde.

Another L shot. Questionable D. Sure he is talented, but did we have to deal a mid 2nd rounder to move up 4 spots. I am really not sure anymore. A forward until 2 years ago. Who cares about D or R shots. Just lost.

I do love this kid and he's got huge potential but we have a ton of lefty D now.

And in his interview kid said has only played D for 2 years. Was a forward before that. You can't make this shit up.

I'm not too worried about that. Late first round is where you can afford to gamble. Dont really like having to trade up for him but I think he can be very useful if he keeps developing at his current pace.

The bad news is that this is going to be a longgggg rebuild if this is the type of players we're after.

Yeah, see you in 3 years. I'll tell you this much, you are not going to have a rebuild without getting top 3 picks. So if this is truly their plan, especially with a lot of assets dealt off, we could be in for a handful of dry years.

On the bright side, they will have a pretty high pick next year.

It is very frustrating that neither of our picks so far are going to be anywhere near the big club or even Hartford next year. Not what I was expecting.

I shouldn't be confused because if you say stay the course on the rebuild I get what they are doing. But I still think your best path is to get up higher and get higher ceiling players. You have many picks and RFA's, I just wonder why you wouldn't package some assets to get up higher. Seems odd to me.

Maybe other teams don't want rangers assets? Bettman does not want the Rangers rebuild.

Oh COME ON now, STL just moved up 4 spots for a mid third. Cost us a mid second. Well done Gorts.

I know it is 25 and we traded for 22, but how awful does that make our deal look. We moved up 4 spots...dealt a pick in the 40's to do it. The Blues moved up 4 spots...dealt a pick in the 70's...really.

I have lost all faith in Gorton, and I used to be a huge fan.

Who knows maybe he'll turn into Seth Jones-lite?:cool2: Was picked right around where he was projected and does seem to be yet another upside selection. Coming from the USDP and Wisconsin he'll be coached up well. Need to go with a forward next.

And they grabbed Bokk, the last guy I wanted who would have fit like a glove. Right shot winger. This has not been a good night at all.
