    Phil Beckner posted his tweet last June 22, the day the Bulls breathed deeply, traded Jimmy Butler and began a full rebuild.

    The then-Boise State assistant coach couldn’t have known that one year later, one of his prized pupils, Chandler Hutchison, would be trying to help fill Butler’s substantial shoes after the Bulls made him the 22nd pick of the NBA draft Thursday night. But what Beckner did know is what it took to make it in the NBA.

    Coach Leon Rice hired Beckner at Boise State and promoted him to associate head coach in part because of Beckner’s time as an assistant at Weber State. That was where a relatively doubted prospect from a small-time program was drafted sixth overall in 2012.
