Batum By the Numbers Batum ranked first in assists per game (7.0), tied for second in rebounding (5.8) and 10th in steals (1.00) amongst all NBA shooting guards with 20 games played following the All-Star Break. He finished with at least seven assists in a career-high nine-consecutive games from Feb. 14-March 6, the longest streak by a Charlotte player since 2009. Batum also notched a takeaway in 15-straight games from Feb. 8-March 13, which was another new personal best and the lengthiest stretch by any Hornet player in five years. The Frenchman recorded a pair of triple-doubles this season, giving him five with the Hornets and nine overall for his career. He is now tied with Larry Johnson for the second-most triple-doubles in team history, trailing only all-time leader Anthony Mason (7). In his second triple-double of the season on March 15 in Atlanta, Batum racked up a career-high 16 assists. It was the most assists by any player in franchise history in a triple-double and tied for the third-highest such total in the NBA this season. Batum now sits in seventh place on the franchise’s all-time three-point field goal leaderboard (366) and 10th in assists (1,208).
If PG and LBJ are going to the Lakers why don’t we figure a way out to bring Ingram here. Nurk/Collins/Ingram could all grow together for the next decade I guess.
He’s too valuable. The only way they would trade him would be if they got a haul in return. They will probably include him in a proposed deal for Kawhi and if that doesn’t work, they will integrate him into the team next to LeBron and George and try to shop him when another superstar becomes available. We don’t have anything to offer that would get you remotely close to getting Ingram. Unless you mean the other, 32-year old Ingram they played at the end of last season.
Lol. Bro here's what you're not understanding: LeBron has every bit of leverage. HE will choose where he will go and Cleveland just has to deal with it.
He won't tell them to send Ingram to Portland for some change though, will he? If he tells them to trade Ingram or he doesn't come (I have no idea why he'd ever do that), they'll take the best deal possible and us offering them a bunch of average picks or average players won't cut it.
That literally makes no sense. None whatsoever. How did this post get a like?? LeBron has the ability to choose whatever team he wants to play on. What does that have to do with trading Ingram to us?? You don't seem to have a clue right now. LeBron has a PLAYER option. He either opts out and they lose him for nothing or they take whatever scraps they can get for him when he opts in. Plain and simple. How do you think CP3 got to Houston?
When you are basically the best player on the team in the crappy East, you should do more than that. Yes it does, He is saying If LBJ says he wants to go to LA, but LA needs to get rid of Ingram, They wont just let Ingram go for nothing, they will still go for the best package... a package most teams can make better than we can. This means Ingram to Portland is all but not possible.
The post you initially responded to when you said: ...was a post in response to the idea of Ingram being traded to Portland. y'all are basically talking about completely different topics (what Cleveland will take in a Lebron deal vs what LA will take in an Ingram deal)
Is it though? LA will take LeBron and Cleveland will take whatever they can get. They have no leverage. If LeBron wants to go to LA, and wants Ingram on his team, Ingram will be on his team.
What am I missing here? Why, exactly, would LAL "need to get rid of" Brandon Ingram? Why would they want to? They have a butt load of cap space and he's only on the books for $5.7 million in 2018-19. I repeat, what am I missing here? Did he sleep with LeBron's mom, or something? BNBM
It is, because....NOBODY was talking about what Cleveland would take. The premise of the initial post was the notion that if both George and Lebron went to the Lakers, there wouldn't really be much playing time for Ingram, so perhaps LA would be willing to deal him. Obviously, if Lebron wants Ingram to stay, he stays. The hypothetical was solely based on the notion that LA (and by extension, Lebron) didn't want Ingram to stay.
Personally, I don't see it. But in theory, if Lebron and PG are taking up 70+mpg at the forward spots, there's not a lot of time for Ingram, unless he plays out of position. Honestly though, I could see him playing the 2 with Lebron and George and thriving.
Because it doesn't matter. They have to take what they can get. Ingram can play and still get plenty of time. Ball pG13 Ingram Bron Whoever else
PG13 and Ingram would be "wings", forget SF vs. SG. Those two positions have become pretty much interchangeable in today's NBA. BNM
I'd argue that "combo" guards are more common now, see CJ and Dame. And that SF and PF have become more interchangeable, see Moe and Chief.
So the consensus answer your question @LayneStaley, appears to be that the reason we don't figure a way to bring Ingram here if PG and LBJ go to the Lakers is because his game is not incompatible with theirs. All three can likely play together without any conflict.
Bro, LeBron can play all 5 positions. PG probably 3 Ingram 2. KD has played from 2-4. I'd disagree with your assessment.
I want to like the post for the validity of the content, but I refuse to do so because of the possibility of its reality in a despised franchise.
